Now i am running aosip but what is that theme you are using? It is not default, isn't it?

Yes but don't flash the nougat firmware and download accoriding GApps for Android 6.0!
If you have TWRP on your RN3P you can flash everything, if it's not working it wouldn't work with unlocked bootloader either.

generally speaking no, but if something is not working after dirty flashing you can still wipe everything and start from scratch.

that's a rom/firmware specific problem, you have to ask in the according thread for help, sorry!
there is no volte in my country yet thats why i cant help you

1) Does MiFlash (with EDL) allow you to backup the phone before overwriting it?
2) Does this only work with ZCX TWRP? Or can I use any TWRP recovery image?

PS: I'm assuming there is no difference in recovery between Kenzo & Kate

1) You don't need to backup anything before overwriting stock recovery. If you wipe your phone with MiFlash and install official MIUI it's like you never touched the phone. But i guess if you want a backup from MIUI anyway: click here for a guide
2) It does work with other recoveries as well but imo you should stick to ZCX. (never had problems with it)

Thanks for the guide. Just bought the RN3P Kenzo, and i find that MIUI consumes a lot of RAM, i frequently have to clear the cache when installing apps and such. LOS is said to be better in the RAM management so i'm gonna try your method. Will let know how it worked.

i tried to flash the newer ZCX TWRP (kate version) from december and had problems that this recovery gave 3004 error and wouldnt let me flash kenzo roms because my device is "kate" thats why i sticked to the version linked in this tutorial. never had problems with that!

I tried with a beta version and unbelievable to say that it worked with the beta one.

They're not folders but yes, you put them on your device/micro sd
