I am on Verizon G5: VS987. Besides getting vs987 firmware, need I find LGUP_VS987.DLL, or just use LGUP_H830.DLL ?

Yes, you need kdz and .dll specified for your model.
If you can't find any dll for you try this

Make sure to use this in 2nd step. ( Ist step with dll extracted from kdz. I hope you will read the thread carefully.)
Im having a problem.

This error usually comes when you flash kdz of different region e.g flashing European rom on an HK H850. It shouldn't harm you phone but will only show that error on boot up.
You can either flash right kdz for you region or keep up with that error.
I also read somewhere that by deleting the cust folder you can get rid of that error, which requires root ( But I'm still not sure about it because I have H830).
So that's not a flashing error but wrong kdz error.

Hasnt find a proper H850 VDS KDZ ROM.
On the lgfirmwares, there's a ROM for it, but it's not exactly the right ROM. Is a generic ROM for all european models "VDF".
Hi! I managed to follow this thread and get my LG G5 back to life, but now it won't connect to LTE at all. I think this is due to the .dll I used (Revised LGUP_H830.zip), being my phone a F700L. Does anyone know where to get a working .dll for my model? I found one on the lgviet forum but it won't do... Any help would be much appreciated!
Can't confirm but you can give it a try using same method with .dll and kdz of your specific model.

hello, @dksoni411 first of all thank you for all of this, i am having trouble, i had everything working with installing resurrection remix and twrp but then i tried to flash a different version of twrp because it kept thinking my sd card was corrupted, which it wasn't, then when i did that i somehow ended up with no recovery at all. so now i have fastboot mode and a bootable rom but no recovery.
edit: i was having some problems but they were all due to user error as usual. figured it out eventually. thanks so much for the detailed instructions! now hopefully when i redo it my rom doesn't think my sd card is corrupted. might not be the right place for it, but has anyone else had that happen? does anyone know why?

Which variant are you using?
Also are you using different dll for both kdz and dz process.
Also try running LG Flashtool as admin.
I'm using H830 yes i did the different part between kdz and dz now the problem is my phone is not recognized by LG flash but he is with my PC (COM41)
EDIT: The phone is also recognized by LG UP but no with LG Flashtool OHHH the problem was that i choosed LAN as connection mod
EDIT 2: I Have the big 2 but not the big 3 even after using LG UP
EDIT 3 : All is OK now but when i want to install fulmics theres bootloop in twrp so im back in stock

I also do have H830 and I ain't facing any problem. Can you please explain your bootloop issue a bit. Did you try matching your fulmics rom downloaded zip md5 with the one given on official thread.
