First not even sure if there is a LP tot. The rooted one might be but if not there's no LP to go too. Also it would be at your own risk since you have a carrier model. You'd use LGUP but you may end up bricking your device.

Hi, maybe you can help me clarify if I can go back from mm to lp. I have the 960YK model. it was rooted using the H960 method since it's the same build. a few days ago I made the mistake of trying to install xposed on my phone. unfortunately that led to bootloop i couldn't get out of (although I had the knowledge from previous phones i owned) . at the end, I gave it to back to service because it's still under warranty. I'm sure that when I'll get it back in a few days it will be with the latest marshmallow installed on it.
is there a way, to your knowledge, to revert back to lollipop so I can gain root again?
i must admit that the latest drawback has hurt my self confidence that I can get out of any situation with this phone..
Thank you in advance.

Am I the only one having issues here with LG UP? LG UP says the TOT file is invalid. I've downloaded it and extracted the same file twice, and ran UP as administrator.
I'm using a T-Mobile LG V10 running MM trying to Refurbish back to Stock MM.

If using refurbish you should use the kdz file, not the TOT file. The TOT file does not include system.

With the KDZ in the LG Flash Tool (2014) I get two errors. First, a window pops up saying "Connection to the server failed. Try again in a moment.". I understand that's not a big deal from reading through the forums, however, beneath that popup modal I get "Required info cannot be found. Contact the system administrator.."

My phone's fingerprint reader and GPS have been wonky which is why i'm trying to restore to factory boot/system/etc for a warranty claim ASAP. Any ideas?

That's because you don't use lg flash tools.. It's not supposed to work If your running MM you use LGUP to flash both tot and kdz

Thanks for the response.

The TOT in LG UP doesn't work for me, even after three downloads from the link provided in the OP. It says "Error: TOT file is invalid[1]"

Reread my post :). You flash BOTH Tot or kdz with LGUP. Why not try the kdz?

Now I see what I had to do, I'm an idiot...

I had to deselect "Refurbish" which is the default and instead select the radio button for "Upgrade" in order to browse to the KDZ and then re-select "Refurbish".

Flashing now, let's hope it works :)

Still having issues unfortunately. I still get "Your device software can't be checked for corruption."

I've done a factory reset on the phone, and the phone has been wiped to LG's OEM MM...but I still get this error. I'm also unable to get into Recovery or Download mode like I used to (hold down power and vol down until boot, then temp release volume and then re-press for recovery).

Hello. Is it possible to flash 960A with a firmware from a different model? It is annoying that LG developed only v20a firmware for 960a while the dual sim version is running v20c. I got LG G4 818P and can flash firmwares from 818N model.

It would be at your own risk. But if it's any 960 it should work but won't know till you try. And other models firmwares you cannot at all

Don't read too much into version numbers. What is v20c for one device might well be behind v10a for a different device. For the V10 phones any v10a is Android Lollipop, but for a G3 V20a was Lollipop (and apparently the G3s are getting Marshmallow now too!). Of note the H961n devices seem to be getting lots of updates (which frequently have minor or major issues) and are onto v20g, but the latest is about on par with the H962's v20c.

Flashing the firmware for one device onto another device (even a very similar one) is risky. Even subtle hardware differences might invalidate assumptions made in the firmware. Having written that if you look at this thread there is a mention of a report of claiming successfully installing the H901 firmware onto a F600S (and then unlocking the bootloader). If you've got a good warranty which you know will cover problems caused by flashing the wrong firmware go ahead and try it if you're okay being without your phone for a little while.
