I want to flash an unlocked LV405UA ( ( Pie: V405UA20a ) to V405QA7 ( Pie : V405QA720a_03_NAO_US_OP_0529.kdz )
I followed the 4 steps of this tutorial but got error : 0x6004, CrossDL USC_US>OPEN_US

Then I replaced DLL with DLL V40 1.9.39.7 ( https://www.mylgphones.com/lgup-dll-for-lg-v40-thinq-version1-9-39-7.html )
And also replaced LGUP_UI_Config_m250n with UI_Config_V40_LGUP_1_16.
But still gave me the same error.

can you share your steps to flash from V405UA to V405QA7 successfully ?
Thanks !

please use this map to confirm if you have band 71 coverage :
https://maps.t-mobile.com/pcc.html?map=mvno-roamd-34l
just drop pin on your area and it will show all the available tmobile frequency,
if you do have b71 coverage, you can dial 277634#*# and go to "band selection" to lock your phone
to b71, and then go to "engineering mode" to check if it is connected to band 71.
wair for your update.
After flashing to v405QA7 , my unlocked AT&T V405UA can make volte and wifi calling on T-Mobile.
No more missing calls indoors !

I can confirm band 2,4,12,66 are working fine on T-Mobile network. I can't verify band 71 because there is almost no 71 coverage in California.

That guide above works. I followed the instructions and successfully crossflashed my unlocked V405UA Pie to V405QA7.

Awesome! Is your bootloader unlocked? Did you root it?

Where are the volte or wifi settings? I don't see them on my at&t sim card. I think i have to call them to enable it.

Well of course CMD LGUP 1.15 or 1.14 doesn't give a flying ****, but that's also dangerous if your not careful you can end up with an expensive paperweight

My unlocked V405UA is still unrooted based on Root Checker App.
So I guess it's still boot loader locked.
Before flashing to V405QA firmware, my V405UA always switched to 3G from LTE when making phone calls in T-mobile network.
Now it shows HD" phone calls without stoping LTE. And I can make HD calls through only Wifi too.
check if you turn on "wifi calling" under network/call in setup.

Well of course CMD LGUP 1.15 or 1.14 doesn't give a flying ****, but that's also dangerous if your not careful you can end up with an expensive paperweight
Thanks for the warning about CMD LGUP. I guess I was just lucky. Please educate me more.

I did try your method but unfortunately LGUP 1.16 shows error when cross flashing my LV405UA Pie to LV405QA7 Pie.
That's why I followed the other tutorial to use CMD LGUP 1.15 to make it work.
Why CMD LGUP is dangerous? If it fails, can't I just use regular LGUP 1.16 to flash back my original KDZ ?

After flashing V405QA7 to your unlocked AT&T V405UA, can you test it on att sim ( i know you are using tmobile currently) with the following:

1. can you dial 277634#*# or *#546368#*350# to access the service mode and then do band selection?

2. does it support both att volte and wifi calling? I would expect yes because the IMEI is att's, on the other
hand, from @Alibaba0101's reply: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80379609&postcount=43,
he does not get or see volte and wifi call setting on his att sim, I think that is because his IMEI is sprint's, not sure if att customer support is willing to add that IMEI to their database to whitelist it for att volte and wifi calling.

so I believe the best shot is to buy AT&T V405UA instead of Sprint V405UA.

wait for your update, thanks.

When using ATT sim, V405QA7 Pie doesn't have option to turn on wifi calling and volte. Also can't access service mode by dialing 277634#*#

try *#546368#*350#, then field test---modem setting, use band selection to lock band and use engineering mode to check what band you are in. Correction: should use *#546368#*405# for v40, see #50 below

try *#*#4636#*#* and then phone information to check if "volte provisioned" and "wifi calling provisioned" are enabled.

The above code works on v35, hope also work on v40, wait for your update, thanks.

To access the svc menu, the last 3 numbers after 546368 is the phone model. 350 is for V35. V40s will use 405 or 409 if korean.

With AT&T sim card, volte provisioned" and "wifi calling provisioned" are disabled. Can't be turned on.

i have both v35 usa unlock variant and att variant (cross flashing to usa unlock rom), with cricket sim card, both support att volte (though no wifi calling), that is why I expect your v40 att variant with usa unlock rom should behave the same because the imei is already in att's database. In addition, both my v35 variant support Verizon volte too, wonder if you can visit a local Verizon store to test your v40 on their volte.
