Successfully removed apps

Re: safely removing apps from Huawei device. Thank you for your reply. I have successfully removed all four of the Huawei apps that I inquired about. Thank you very much.
--Pheebic

Hey man, sorry for the late answer, haven't checked this for a while since that as soon as i got Treble compatibility, i immediately said goodbye to EMUI in way to get rid of it. I first went on OpenKirin RROS 8.1 and now I'm on AOSPE 6.1.

Anyway Power Genius app is the power saving feature. Its usage kicks in when you switch on the power saving mode. Are you sure you wanna get rid of it? I wouldn't do that if you want my personal advice, but well if you don't have root you can always remove it through ADB.

Hi there, you don't have to worry. Glad to know that the list has been useful. To answer to your question, com.huawei.appmarket is the Huawei market app, so feel free to remove it. com.iflytek.speechsuite is the voice input by Huawei, remove it if you rely on Google voice input (much better in my opinion), com.huawei.android.hwpay is obviously Huawei Pay and com.huawei.android.chr should be just useless crap!

Which list you've followed to remove apps..? Not mine I'd assume since that you've removed a lot of fundamental stuff that in my list is flagged as not to be removed, in capital letters. Honestly if i were in you I'd reinstall the firmware, in way to avoid even worst scenarios. And overall, as i wrote in OP, when you're doing something you don't know, at least have a backup on external SD card on which rely in cases like this one.

I can't quick search after swipe down from top....
Something has gone wrong
Doing what? How wrong? Quick search where? Help me to help you dude, explain more about what you did and tell to me the steps you've made to come at this point, because if not, it'd be impossible to help you without even a clue.

I remove some green bloats from your suggested list.
Please man, at this point i kindly invite you for the last time to explain someone in way to understand something about the problem: which apps from the list you've removed totally, which is your Android version and how you'd reproduce the issue? Because saying that you removed only green apps in my list is practically saying that there is something wrong in my guide, and since that i work and write every detail with extreme attention, I'd like to be sure about the origin of the error.

The fault of that could never be caused by removing just green packages, because this can happen only if important packages of vital use for the OS are removed.

You removed even packages marked as RED? Because chain apps and services like some Huawei important stuff (not crap) and some android packages also will provide issues when removed, so please explain your Android version, the list of removed apps and more details about it. Last but not less important, you should always have a backup before doing something that you're unsure about.

Which criteria you've followed to remove apps? Remember that not every app/service that has "Huawei" in its name is safe to remove, the same is applied for Android/Google apps and services. Factory reset and everything that is now missing will surely come back.

Hi Redskull. I have used adb to uninstall bloat twice now but both times I have ended up breaking the ability of the system to enforce "App Launch" settings, i.e. everything loads on boot despite me saying not to.

I used your guide first time with loads added from me (foolishly) and second time a mixture of lists.

Do you (or anyone else) know that if I just follow the green list this time, will App Launch still work correctly?

Can someone who has removed just the green items check for me, pretty please? Setting I'm talking about is "Battery --> App Launch"

Could you set some to not auto-launch, restart, and then check the Launch Records to see if it was enforced? I would be very grateful as I will go ahead and reinstall for a 3rd time in a month if working correctly..

hey RedSkull,

thanks a lot for this list. it really helped a lot when debloating the crap out of emui :)

in Google-App list you mentioned: com.google.android.email - G-mail.
I think correct package-name is com.google.android.gm (at least it was in my p20 with emui 9)

and a question: is there any package which removes the "login with huawei-id" at top of settings-menu?? that really annoys me

kinds regards

I'd assume yes dude, honestly it's really difficult to tell more 'bout this simply because this sounds like if somethin' really crucial has been removed and so, app launch (or activity launches) are failing to. Plus, i don't know exactly which apps you removed, so it's really hard to tell. I'd say that since that something similar happened to me something like 1 year and an half ago, i remember that i did a clean flash of EMUI and started troubleshooting which package could had caused the issue. And that's what i advice you to do. Just specify your system version and if other modifications has been installed (like root, xposed, ecc.). I'd check by myself, but i'm running Descendant GSI and overall i'm not planning to come back on EMUI in future, even because the 6X will remain my first and last phone from Huawei, so i'll be not able to tell.

Hey man glad to hear that, i'm happy that the list is useful. Thanks for notifying to me the typo, you're right. Must had my eyes crossing while writing it, i've surely mixed stock Android Email client with G-Mail's. Corrected it now :highfive: And for your second question, sure: removing the apk "com.huawei.hdiw" (Huawei ID App) and "com.huawei.android.hsf" (Huawei Services Framework) did the trick and allowed me to get rid of everything that was related to Huawei Account in EMUI 5. Dunno if things has changed on EMUI 8/9.

Many thanks to you for the list RedSkull!

I'll surely search for them and explore the packages when i'll have some time, i'll keep you updated about.

com.android.contacts << I install google contact and remove this package and then find that phone dialer app is also disappeared so please be cautious
You will find that removing contacts also stops you from using trusted contacts in do not disturb.
Thanks for reporting this, I'll update OP as I'll have time to. Didn't be aware of that since that i always used Android Contacts instead of other apps in any Android device i had.
