I've just tried to install the EU incremental C.48 but it aborted during the install with an error. Unfortunately I did a reboot, phone hangs in bootloader now, will start to recover.

EDIT: got this managed simply by booting from the other slot. System still tries to install the update.

As C.60 release today, I think EU models will not receive full update zip. Hope that C.60 will be deployed faster

OP9P root with Magisk, Android 12, on T- Mobile firmware, Root Check verifies Root, problem is no root file explorer can delete or rename a file in /system (as example), root uninstallers do not work for OEM apps. It is like you have root but you don't. Cannot create a new folder the copy and paste a system file into it. Any answers guys. No third party apps can make system changes like Hifont for custom fonts, or changing the boot animation. If you can't rename the boot animation.zip to boot animation.zip.bak and then put your own boot animation.zip in place of it, what good is having root? What can be done differently having root and not having root? Any thoughts everybody? Thanks, Theghost1951

The ability to use modules, Xposed (haven't used it in years, but it's still a thing I guess), and flash custom kernels (of course none are available for A12). Some apps use root for features. Nova launcher for example.

Ok, should I downgrade to 11 would that give me better odds? And still be on T-Mobile or go with the global firmware?

Used Magisk font manager module to change fonts, but it doesn't change them systemwide.

Is any one able to root after C.60 update? After updating to c.60 I'm not able to root using this method. It worked fine till c.48. please help!

I am going to wait for a more complete rooting process that gives total control of the system than what this process gives.... Yes you have root, but you really don't. nice work but it is incomplete.

If you are having trouble gaining root for the OnePlus 9 pro, find Techibee's video. It is very well explained and he shows you all the steps, watch the video about 10 times all the way through. If you are having trouble with windows search for the problem's solution and you will find it. Using the driver updater fixed another issue I was having on my computer that a windows update didn't.

There is no "half" root access. If you can do a "su -" and "id" shows you are root (uid 0) all is fine. This has nothing todo with changed system functions which not work like before or OS dependencies. There is no difference to a classic *nix system.

Ok so I'm really confused with the instructions. I've made it a fair way through but I'm struggling hardcore here. It doesn't feel like it should be so difficult but here I am. Would appreciate any help!

So I have the OnePlus 9 Pro model LE2125
I downloaded the OxygenOS 12 C.48 boot: with Magisk v24.3 (AA) edition

I was able to unlock my bootloader, though not via the means described in the tutorial. I updated windows, have the correct ADB, and had communication with the phone with ADB through command prompt. After MUCH MUCH time and retrying the command "fastboot oem unlock" absolutely would not work. Eventually I searched some other websites and found the suggestion of "fastboot flashing unlock" and that unlocked my bootloader. I got the same screens as shown in the picture and my device was wiped etc... If I enter fastboot it confirms in red that bootloader is unlocked.


Now I'm on Step 3 and I'm riding the struggle bus again. Per the instructions I renamed the patched file in the downloaded zip (which I extracted and then placed in the platform tools folder so it could find it) "magisk_boot.img" I got the following responses in CMD prompt. It appeared to have done what it was suppose to? I think? However, step 4 it shows pictures of Magisk and installing it but I do not see Magisk at all. It's just plain jane Oxygen OS.

I could do using termux su -c manage_fonts and it would start the font manager. But font manager would not install systemwide. In addition, if I created a folder in say /system/fonts called backup....when I rebooted it was not there. Also, if I renamed a file, when I rebooted it was back to the original name. How is that considered having full root privileges? It is not.

You have to install the Magisk App once you are in temporary boot, and then open that app and do to install link upper right and tap on direct install. Than you are done

It seems like to me that Magisk is just an Android emulator for android just like BlueStacks is an emulator for window to run Android apps. Unless you do everything through Magisk you will get nowhere with root explorers or anything else. Unless you go through Magisk, you have essentially no other root access. Root file explorers don't work on their own unless it goes through Magisk, if that is possible.

Used the top Magisk AA in the 1st page. Booted to bootloader with adb. Then "fastboot reboot (Magisk patched boot image but use original file name) that boots you into temporary boot of phone. Once phone is booted up, install latest Magisk Manager, start the app then tap on the upper right corner install, then select direct install. Reboot and you are done. Read how to keep root for OTA updates.

I have used the same method suggested here. After flashing it gets stuck at fastboot logo and never boots up. I had to force reboot and the installation doesn't happen.
