All of us were noobs once.

Keep in mind that there are OS shifters, brand switchers, not to mention the process that keeps changing with every Android version on some phones.

Yes, down to the tiniest details, even something as simple as the command of unlocking bootloader, is different between Pixels and OnePlus for instance.

I would refrain from making fun of those who don't have the same level of knowledge. You may find yourself in their place one day.

There is nothing to elaborate here. On the first page you have a tutorial on what to do - ba tutorial is with pictures (you have to be ignorant not to know how to do it - or not understand the content there).

True. Yet again, mistakes happen, and confusions happen, and sometimes bricks happen. I just wouldn't make fun of anyone.

I'll put it this way, tutorials with custom roms are less well described and there I understand that there may be questions and errors, but here we spin on official programs.

I myself also wondered if the change from C66 to F16 would take place without problems - I even asked about it. And you know what I did a little bit my way - logically. I turned off in Magisk Modules - I shouldn't do it but I did - and very well.
Because the "Hide My Applist" module in the release version is not compatible with A13 - I had to update it to the beta version and if I didn't do that, when restarting from A12 to A13 the phone wouldn't boot.

No one handed it to me on a platter - since I decided to root, I require from myself a little more commitment and search for answers on my own.

PS. it is funny how several people ask the same thing. And all you have to do is change the tab.

I read somewhere on XDA that you need to be on C6x before flashing F16.

thanx. I've already read this. but actually it should work if I flash the whole F16-ROM? Or what is the reason for a Possible problem? Has anyone tried it before? And if I flash C6x first, do I have to use that for a while before I go to A13?

I couldn't go from C48 to A13 directly, installation failed. Had to go through C63.

Okay, then I'd rather do it first with the C66 (I have non C63). But do you have to boot it a couple of times, or can you just write F16 over it?

Not sure about multiple boots, I just let the phone do its thing and installed the prompted updates, then lastly local install A13.

So, to be clear it wasn't permanently bootlooped, its just when trying to flash the patched boot image .... Original one works normal but no root

FIXED , you've to uninstall any root management software (magisk - lsposed......)
then it will work perfectly.

I think its something got to do with modules or something

The exact app that was making this problem was (HIDE MY APPLIST)
probably not compatible with android 13 and there's no further updates for it so sadly uninstalling for ever

Patch Stock Boot Image via Magisk and Flash it using Fastboot

Steps to Flash Magisk Patched Boot Image using Fastboot​

• Make sure to transfer the boot.img file to the phone’s internal storage. (above original boot posted)
• Next, make sure to install the latest Magisk Manager app on your handset.
• Open the ‘Magisk Manager’ app > Hit ‘Install’ then choose ‘Install’ again.

Once done, tap on ‘Select and Patch a File’ > Head over to the storage and select the extracted stock boot.img file that you’ve moved earlier.

• After selecting the stock boot.img file, the Magisk Manager will automatically patch it on your device.
• Then magisk_patched.img file will be saved on your device automatically. [Check the ‘Download’ folder of the internal storage]
• Now, it’s important to transfer the magisk_patched.img file to your PC where you’ve installed ADB & Fastboot. [Inside the ADB & Fastboot folder]
• Next, you’ll have to connect your device to the PC via a USB cable.
• Head over to the installed ADB & Fastboot folder (Platform Tools folder) > Type cmd on the address bar and hit Enter to open Command Prompt. [If prompted by UAC, click on Yes to run it as administrator]

• Now, run the following command line on the Command Prompt window to check whether the device is properly detected in fastboot or not:

fastboot devices

• Then run the following command to easily boot your Android device into the Fastboot (Bootloader) mode:

fastboot reboot bootloader

• Next, run the following command to flash the patched boot image file on your handset:

fastboot boot magisk_patched.img

• Finally, run the command below to normally restart your device into the system:

fastboot reboot

• Wait for the device to boot into the system.
• Once booted go to Magisk application and select Direct Install
• Reboot & Enjoy!

Finally, you can open the Magisk Manager app to check whether the root is enabled or not. Make sure to check for the latest Magisk updates from the application itself.

Just installed latest F72 at my LE2123 and managed to keep root with no issues.
Also the Google wallet passes all security checks, so job done!
