you have a Global/AA oneplus 9 pro and already flashed F16 AA OTA. Why would you want to flash the EU OTA?That's the weird thing, I'm using the full zip and can't flash it.

I have a EU device 2123 with EU F16, and I want to upgrade to EU F72.you have a Global/AA oneplus 9 pro and already flashed F16 AA OTA. Why would you want to flash the EU OTA?
I were on custom romI have a EU device 2123 with EU F16, and I want to upgrade to EU F72.
I was thinking about switching to global but didn't do it.
Other way to do so would have been to flash the full F16 available on Oxygen updater, then update the incremental F17, then temporarily gain root using Indian F17 Magisk boot, and direct install to gain permanent Root.I updated my 9 Pro LE2125 to F17 from F16 with the incremental that I downloaded from oxygen updater...
unfortunately though I had to first install stock boot.img with Ex kernel manager flasher due to not being able to restore stock boot.ing via uninstall magisk / Restore images.
(I kept getting that error that said no stock boot.img backup exist) so after flashing stock boot image via kernel flasher I then went into magisk app and did a direct install...
Now finally I was able to restore image via uninstall magisk.
Then with the Android 12 system update apk. I installed the incremental f-17 global AA.
After that completed I did not reboot. I then went back into Magisk 25.2 installed to inactive slot and then hit reboot and all is well...
I had to do the restore image cause I still can't find the full f-17 global update so I made it work with the incremental...

I humbly askFollow the exact same steps as for the other updates.
Oxygen Updater, download the ROM.
Open Magisk, Uninstall Magisk, Restore Image.
Open System Updater (or whatever is shown for the OPLocalUpdate For A12 app), Local Upgrade and flash the ROM.
Open Magisk, Install to Inactive Slot.
Reboot & Enjoy!
Short answer: NO, atleast I did not.I humbly ask
Is it necessary to reboot after step 2, restoring the image?
Did you use the Updater in Settings for flashing it? Do not use that. Please see THIS post for the steps.Hi! I can't update to F17. This are my steps:
Restore image from magisk
Donwload Ota and let extract
Install magisk again on inactive slot
Reboot
The device reboots in qualcom dump mode, so I have to reboot again and they it starts
But at this point I lost root and it says update failed
Anyway I'm able to regain root flashing magisk via twrp
What I'm doing wrong
The Oxygen Updater is an app by Adhiraj S. Chouhan available on Play Store. The latest version on Play Store.Yes, I use it.
In your post there's no download link for Oxygen Updater. Which version should I use?
In this app should I select full or incremental rom?The Oxygen Updater is an app by Adhiraj S. Chouhan available on Play Store. The latest version on Play Store.
That depends on which version you are on and which version you are trying to update to. If you are on F16 trying to update to F17, the incremental will do. If you are on A12, then the full one since F17 is A13.
Probably you are not using the rights apps. How are you able to make the System Update apk see the incremental update?
Mine doesn't see the zip although it's in the root directory.

This is exactly what I'm doing, as I did several times before, however the system update apk cannot see the incremental zip file.Probably you are not using the rights apps.
First of all you download the Rom/update through the Oxygen updater.
Secondly you use the system update apk (separate application, not the stock system updater) to find the downloaded rom for installation.
Everybody had success if they follow these simple steps.
Download the full OTA if availableThis is exactly what I'm doing, as I did several times before, however the system update apk cannot see the incremental zip file.
Can anyone provide download links? I got qualcomm crashdump splash and cant continue. Will try to flash original boot.img
Temp boot into TWRP and install magisk.zip... fastboot mode "fastboot boot (name of TWRP.img)Thanks Soft_M for the patched boot image.
I have a problem, on my OPO 9 Pro with firmware LE2123_F74 the Magisk app showed an update, when downloading it closed and was no longer on the device. I downloaded with the Oxygen updater the version LE2123_F75 and installed it with the system updater app. Since Magisk was not on the device I flashed in fastboot mode with flash boot boot_patched_25200_LE2123_F75.img
I own root but the magisk app is gone. Can you or someone from the thread help me get a working Magisk app back on the device. (Magisk 25.2.zip and Magisk 25.2.apk) are in the root directory of my device. Thanks for your help

As for me, it doesn't matter if it auto reboots or not. I just simply adb reboot to bootloader, then fastboot boot TWRP, then in TWRP I flash the magisk app the reboot to system and finish with opening magisk and insure root is applied.....doneWhy instruction on first post is still visible when it's out of date?
Now, there is no possibility to not reboot phone after update, it's done automatically.
Would be nice if someone could write step by step how to do update and keep root

You can download the EU stock boot.img that's in this thread (2nd post), download the latest magisk canary manager and patch that boot.img. Then you can temporarily gain root by rebooting to bootloader and booting that image ex. "fastboot boot boot.img"( your boot.img name will vary after patching). After the phone boots you can just go into magisk manager and do a "direct install" and that will patch your global boot.img to gain permanent root.
My method:This seems way too easy. After reading several attempts and resulting soft bricks and whatnot, you're saying:
Uninstall magisk (or just the app?)
(Won't this leave you unrooted and unable to install magisk alpha?)
Install magisk alpha
Reboot
Local update to a12
Don't reboot
Install magisk (alpha) to inactive slot after ota
Reboot
I'm holding off on a12 until a kernal or two are available, bugs are worked out, and a crystal clear update method.
