My OP3 was in complete working order, running RR (butter btw, but the camera seemed way less quality than stock so I had to go back). I just used this guide to go back to stock to get the impending update. everything worked perfectly. Was reading Qualcomm 9008 without even updating, so that was nice. Thanks to the OP and everyone involved.

2. Umm. Frankly, I haven't seen that yet. It might be a pressed button.
I have now been able to notice that the device registers on the PC as Qualcomm Diagnostics ...
It seems that the phone is entering a new mode, possibly because it is somehow damaged. I can still enter the bootloader at this time and have tried flashing the stock recovery multiple times, and although it says the flash was successful, it still exhibits the same behavior when trying to boot into recovery. Do you have any idea how to fix this?
Thanks

I still don't understand why people are obsessed whith relocking, which is the cause of a majority of bricks.
You don't need to be locked to have OTA.

If you can't fix it alone, contact one plus tech service.

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem with my OnePlus 3.
I wanted to upgrade Oxygen OS. So i locked the bootloader. It never restarted after doing that ...

I unbricked it using the Method 2. It started normally until i have this message "to start android, enter your password".
I tried PIN codes without success. Does somebody know what i have to enter ?

Thank you for helping me ;)

Go to TWRP, > advanced > file manager, then search in /data/system and look for these lines:
-gatekeeper.password.key
-gatekeeper.pattern.key
-locksettings.db
-locksettings.db-shm
-locksettings.db-wal
Delete them, done! ;)

And you don't need to lock the bootloader to get updates.

Who at all told to check MD5s? I have edited some files and deleted some for method 1, so it will fail. So, just run the tool and you will be fine.

i am missing thise files FileName: userdata.img
FileName: cache.img
FileName: system.img
As said above, method 1 is a mini tool with highly reduced size, mainly because of this same reason.

all i get now is md5 checksum failed????what do i do to fix it.
Only follow the steps mentioned here.

And guys, NEVER EVER EVER Lock bootloader unless phone is completely stock.

Thank you very much for this tool. My phone was unresponsive and showed nothing but a black screen. Using the tool, I was able to get the phone to boot again.

The problem i am still having is that I can't flash a recovery image and the phone won't boot into OOS. When I try to enter recovery or system, the phone would show a blank black screen and a white led light on the top left corner would appear. Bootloader, however, works without an issue and using fastboot commands to flash recovery will also show successful.

@Naman Bhalla or anyone else, are there any recommendations to help me fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I have tried the mini and full versions of the tool. Both render the same results.

What method did you use? Does your phone show on your pc when it's off and you follow the first steps in the guide (holding volume up and connecting to pc)

So i tried both method #1 & #2. According to the tool, it successfully applied the files but I'm still getting a black screen when I boot the phone. It'll vibrate if I hold the power button for 20 seconds but that's it. Any ideas or suggestions on what else I can try?

Edit:: So I tried method 2 again and as usual the tool indicates that the files were flashed successfully. After I power cycle my phone and connect it back to my pc, I still see the device as "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostic 900E (COM5)"

Hello everybody!

I received my OP3 on Wednesday and I was so happy with it but yesterday, I took it out of my pocket and it wouldn't boot anymore (I haven't tried to flash it or to install a custom rom on it or anything, it happened spontaneously!). I recognised it was bricked quite quickly since I'm familiar with such things and I tried to boot it blindly in recovery mode, trying different combination of buttons. I managed to access a raw menu from which I think I performed a factory reset.

The problem is, since I wasn't sure about what I was doing and that the procedure was getting longer and longer, I lost patience and tried to shut down the phone... Big mistake! Now, the phone isn't doing anything anymore, impossible to access recovery mode or to make it display anything. I tried power cycling it as well but nothing changed.

So I found this guide, tried method 1 two times then method 2 then method 1 again and everytime the same result : No device, Sahara communication failed or firehose getufsinfo failed at the msmdownloadtool step (The phone is being recognised by my pc and the driver step is ok). I didn't manage to do anything else.

I'm so frustrated, the OP3 is great, it's my first high tier phone and I really enjoy it but a random brick after only 3 days without even trying to flash it or anything, you've got t be kinding me...

Please help, I don't want to send it back to customer support since I'll be traveling soon and I know I wouldn't get it back before my departure...
