[Guide] MI4S users help me to help you!

Since cozzmi added SDCard support anyways, do you want new builds with UBER?

I did a clean install and the hardware buttons still don't work. I guess it is pie controls for me until it gets fixed :)
Bad thing :/ i will recompile the kernel this week.
Could you test an sd-card? for me it's working but i wannah go sure ;) also, if you use the uber version of kernel try the gcc version and vice versa (and pls tell me if you encounter any differences, otherwise i'll just compile with uber).

Awesome that you're getting us SD support back mate :) I should be able to test in the next few days too. (Just updated to MIUI Nougat and I truly hate it... Would try this now but my son is ill and I need to be able to contact my wife. She'd kill me if I was using a development OS again if she needed me haha)

Hope to see this continue to grow. Props to you and to @Cozzmy13 of course. If you get FPR support I'll buy you a coffee ;)

Keep up the awesome work!

Amazing :) so pleased support is back! Can't wait to start playing with custom ROMs again!!!

The effect is the same as if you just install any libra rom and install @Cozzmy13 s kernel which i have compiled and adjusted for aqua (from first post) afterwards (so you can use XOSP/RR/Lineage).

Hey bud, just wanted to check which ROMS this is designed to work with? Tried it on the TS CM14 and got a bootloop and I've just installed the new official LOS14 and wanted to check before I flash it there. Are you still hoping for full support? (ie fpr) or is this more for booting and SD card now?

Either way, thanks for being awesome and looking after us aqua users!

The kernel compiled here is my kernel and it's also in LOS, obviously. LOS supports all Mi4s (aqua) specific hardware including sdcard, excluding fingerprint sensor.

Follow this guide
http://www.wizytechs.com/2016/03/how-to-unlock-xiaomi-mi4s-bootloader.html

but substitute the TWRP with one downloaded from the first post (or this one that I find more reliable - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224383078)

Once you're done you'll be on the LP bootloader and you're ready to flash LOS14 - bear in mind you will lose FPR in all custom roms to date, otherwise they're fantastic and much nicer than stock. LOS14 has been seriously impressive on both battery and stability for me, worth sacrificing the FPR in my book :).

Yes, it's only for sd card and i compiled with UBERTC (should/could give a very little bit more battery and performance, i think i can feel it xD)
Also, for roms that don't support aqua "by default" (RR) you can flash the kernel for SD-card support. Otherwise it became pretty much useless.

Fingerprint was originally planed but i'm not experienced enough to do such things and i also didnt get a lot of support (except for cozzmi, thanks again dude).
Maybe i will start trying again but i have better things to do than sitting in front of my computer in summer (but winter will come xD)...

Totally understand mate, really nice that you worked on it at all. You've always got a beta tester here if you need one ;) wish I could help on the coffee front but since my little one came along my home life has little time for development

First of all I would like to thank you for your hard work. I'm using RR rom ver 5.8.3. Now what kernel can I use for SDcard support? CM14.1 or R5-Basic(old)? thanks you. :)

CM14.1 is the new version, try this one. If it doesnt boot/ u have other problems try the old one (R5-Basic).
It's both Cozzmis kernel, CM14.1 is just the new branch (with big changes compared to R5-Basic)
