Here test for N920C marshmallow users who are facing deep sleep issue bcoz of tripped knox

Make nandroid backup first
1.flash custom recovery Twrp 3.0 recovery twrp-3.0.0-0-nobleltezt-nobleltezt.img.tar and flash using Odin.
2.reboot to recovery
3.flash N920C_MM_DeepSleep_fix_drketan_final.zip
5.Reboot

TEST DEEP SLEEP
You can test with some CPU monitoring app too but this test simply test that above fix is worked or not. In spite of this application showing fixed and you are not getting deep sleep, Issue is somewhere else (may be app ot other and you need wipe)

How different this test app from CPU monitoring app?
This app simply test whether above procedure worked or not. It doesn't related to really your device goes to deep sleep or not. While CPU monitor confirms your device is having deep sleep.

After this Fix Install attached Deep Sleep Test 1.0.apk
Click on Installed App icon

It will give toast notification about fix status.(It is fixed or not)

Rooting N920C 6.0.1

Here is How to root N920C Marshmallow (UPDATE 4)

Thanks to @dadimon29 for test and correct order to flash
@combat44 for finding -Flashing xposed fix root.

I believe something else causing issue on your device other than tripped knox
Follow this
Factory reset from stock recovery but your current recovery is stock so it wipe Int SD too. If you want to preserve it
Then flash custom recovery
Factory reset
Flash above said file to fix deep sleep
Reboot

Behind you
Stock recovery have only option to wipe cache. First try that
If doesn't work then twrp and wipe cache and delvic (art)
Last option is factory reset

so we can't get root for now  ? as i see u deleted busybox and supersu lines from updater script probably they caused bootloop.by the way 15 minutes 0% battery drain for now ,thanks for everything .

Do I need to do this before the system boots or after I set it up?

I probably understand how I was able to achieve deep sleep. Now I check this idea.

    flash the TWRP recovery through
    1. N920C_MM_DeepSleep_FIX_DrKetan (333).zip
    2. BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247.zip
    reboot

And check whether there was a deep sleep

Ok Guys, Deep sleep seems got fixed.
Again thank you very much to all the tester and especially @dadimon29 for extensive test and all the help.
It is really difficult when you don't have device. Hopefully I may get MM soon on my N920I to dig it further.
Now waiting from some comment/update from @Chainfire on rooting latest base. Issue already reported to him by UpinTheAir.

    Again Thank you all
    Regrads
