Is it possible to upload a "complete" build or custom firmware of 3.1 to flash on euro xooms with 3g support ?
The Guide sounds very complicated ....
Is there a way to get one file to flash and thats all?

Have done this today, worked - thanks for sharing your experience.

But I had one problem: it seems to be necessary to disable the SIM's PIN-check, otherwise the network couldn't be found or configure the APN. So if someone has no working 3G-connection just disable the PIN-check, it should work then.

I guess it has to do with CDMA-devices don't have a SIM-card, so the needed module is missing in the VZW-system...

I used it for about 2 days now. I have GPRS and EDGE as well as 3G HSDPA Coverage and it works like a charm. I did not benchmark the download speeds, but the site loading is fast. If I have the time today and am in a HSDPA Area I will try a Download Benchmark and attach it to the Post.

Hello lowtraxx

Im after a little advice. After setting my xoom up with 3g I have a slight issue im wondering if you have come accross. When on 3g the 3g symbol appears then goes after a few seconds but the xoom is still connected. Secondly I can get onto marketplace and facebook app etc etc but if i try to connect through a browser I get "Authentication via the proxy server was unsuccessful" so im not able to browse web sites.

Hi Marshall,

is it possible you got the settings db from someone who had a proxy server set for the Browser and now the browser tries to use that proxy. Try this https://market.android.com/details?id=org.credil.proxysettings and check if there are any proxy settings set. If not try asking the guy you got the databases from if he uses a proxy. If so that is propably the culprit. As to the Icon I dont see the behaviour you describe.

That i have to skip the recovery is clear to me. But i dont know if i need the patched bootloader...

I installed the program you suggested and there are no settings installed in the proxy fields. Cannot get hold of the lad at the minute. Is there no way to just make the xoom not use a proxy

Im thinking the next best thing would be to obtain a new set of 4 files, maybe ones without a proxy server set. I dont know if its relevant but this only happens on 3g not on wifi
