My colleague has OP3, and I will try to connect with his OP3 data cable. Will keep you posted mate.
I got it fixed with OP Tech support help, they took control of my laptop installed Certificates and then flashed the latest version of OOS3.X.x
I unlocked the boot loader - successfully
Went to TWRP official site and downloaded the latest TWRP for OP2 and flashed via fastboot - successfully flashed , however I am unable to get into TWRP Recovery. It takes to the OP stock recovery. HELP if you are aware of something??

Great that OP Support was able to sort it out. This is basically the same procedure.

However, with regards to TWRP, once you flash in Fastboot, restart with the power key and the volume down pressed together. If not, the TWRP recovery is automatically overwritten by the stock.

So, I have flashed TWRP, it was successful, however when I go to recovery with power key and volume down pressed together it takes me to the OP stock recovery. This is what am getting all the time.

Thanks mate, Will try once I reach home. Quick Question: The home button or the finger print scanner is not functional. this happened all of a sudden, a month ago, so what do you think ? is it hardware fault or something to do with software, once I install custom ROM considering the fact the hybrid recovery works fine?
Sounds more like a hardware related issue. However, I remember there was a thread here that was to do with Fingerprint fixes. Do search for it and try it first. If it fails, check with OnePlus if it can be fixed as part of the warranty. If not, you can order this through ebay and replace it yourself.

Mine was replaced under warranty a few months back. The fingerprint reader seems to have a very short life span on many OP2 devices.

Any solution?

Finally Managed to get a hand on this after a late night session with OnePlus. Great that we now have the MM Stock Reset which should theoretically help to get back to stock regardless of the ROM, customizations etc.

I believe this is the best option to use to return to stock from CM.
I was talking on a phone and suddenly my OP2 got restarted and what I see is "Encryption Unsuccessful".
I don't know what has gone wrong, maybe when on call it just got mistakenly browsed into encryption option or something in a setting?

I am on Oxygen OS 3.5.6 and rooted.

Got a message saying:
Encryption unsuccessful
Your phone storage has been damaged, please download the firmware package to brush.
It appears that some part of OS is loaded because when I change the volume the android styled indicator bar and the settings gear appears but nothing happens when I tap it.

I entered TWRP to erase data (again because I'm sure had checked it) and it says (in red):
Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.
Failed to mount '/data' (Stale NFS file handle).
Unable to mount storage

When i go to Wipe / Repair File System selecting Data partition it shows me:
Present: Yes
Removable: No
Size 0MB
Used: 0MB
Free: 0MB
Backup Size: 0MB

When I select Internal Storage and tap Repair or Change File System it says Invalid partition selection (in red).

I followed your solution but I am stuck at recovery tool. After clicking the square button it shows ok and then pressing start it starts some procedure and then stuck on something called FirehoseCheckRSPE and some Chinese thing written ahead of it.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_l6Qvh1m7AAN3llRGZCVnhjQUE/view?usp=sharing

What should I do?
I just need my phone to work, if data goes it's fine.

Thank-you in advance.

Firstly, if you were on the latest firmware, you shouldn't be using any of these firmware packs as this could cause IMEI to get lost. Anyways, this tutorial will not help you. I would suggest flashing the Full OS package of the latest OS (or above 3.5.5) from

Where would I get Full OS package of the latest OS which is above 3.5.5?
are you talking abt these signed flashable zips? --> https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/rom-mirrors-official-oxygen-os-roms-ota-t3209863
And how can I flash it? Coz to flash I would have to first store it in device and the probelm here is, I can't even sideload anything due to internal storage partition being currupt or something.
Please can u give me a stop wise guide.
It would really be help full.

Oh, the part of Internal memory slipped my mind. My advice is to first open a ticket with OnePlus on this while in the meantime work on solutions. If anything they will know some or the other way to reset it completely.

Secondly, Did you try to erase/format internal storage through. Stock recovery?

Lastly, I have heard that some TWRP recoveries (you could check the hybrid recovery) supports OTG. As a last resort you could flash the full ROM via OTG And hope this will fix it.

OFFICIAL ONEPLUS 2 STOCK RESET

SOURCE : OnePlus L2 Support Team
VERSION : OxygenOS 3.0.2

DOWNLOADS

1. OnePlus2 Stock Reset Oxygen 3.0.2 Google Drive | Mediafire
2. Qualcomm Drivers Version 1.00.14 Google Drive | Mediafire

INSTRUCTIONS

You are doing this on your own responsibility. I take no responsibility whatsoever.

(THIS WILL WIPE YOUR ONEPLUS INCLUDING INTERNAL SD)

Download both the files from above and extract them (WinRAR, WinZIP, 7ZIP etc). You should have 2 folders: "OnePlus2_14_A.19_160604" and "qc"

A. Install the Certificates followed by the Qualcomm drivers.
1. Open the folder "qc" and install the Test Certificate in the following Stores: Trusted Root, Trusted Publisher, Third-Party Root and Personal
2. Run the Qualcomm setup wizard (also located in the qc folder)
3. When setup completes, launch Command Prompt as an Administrator and type bcdedit /set testsigning on
4. Restart your computer. (Once it gets on, you should see a watermark stating Test Mode in the bottom right corner. If not, type bcdedit in Command Prompt as an Administrator to check if testsigning shows on. If not, repeat step 3.)
5. Turn off your phone and disconnect the USB cable from the phone.
6. Hold vol-up and plug in the USB(Do not press Power button). The screen will stay black but you will hear a sound from windows that a device is attached.
7. The driver should now automatically install. If not, go to device manager and right click "Unknown Device" and click "Update Driver" Search up the QC folder and press ok. The driver should now install. (Got the RELINK issue? Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...1&postcount=46)

B. Flashing Process
1. Open the OnePlus2_14_A.19_160604 folder and open "MSM8994DownloadTool.exe"
2. Look if your phone is detected in the list. everything is Chinese but you will see one row with different chinese text from the rest within the list. If not, recheck if driver is detected in Device Manager (If not, go back to Step A - Line 3).
3. First click the right square Chinese button. This will perform an integrity check on the downloaded files by verifying the MD5 hash values.
4. The system will seem to hang for a bit but should give you a pop up with the results of the above verification. When everything is ok. Press the start button. and let the progress finish. (If something is not ok, you will have to re-download the images. Google Drive can help extract only the necessary files.)
5. When it's done. Disconnect the USB cable and turn on the device.
6. Launch Command Prompt as an Administrator and type bcdedit /set testsigning off and reboot. Your system should no longer be in Test Mode.

C. Reset TAMPER Flag (Optional)

(This may potentially change your SmartPhone to a rather large paperweight and I will just laugh at you bearing no responsibility)
+ This part of the guide is not an Official Procedure and is in no way affiliated to OnePlus.
+ It is advisable to do this before any of the above mentioned operations.

+ Prerequisites:
  1. Root
  2. HEX Editor with root features
  3. Root File Manager
+ BEWARE: You are modifying partitions which cannot be restored regardless of what you flash. You have been warned AGAIN

1. In File Manager browse to the devinfo partition (dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/)
2. Open devinfo using the HEX Editor.
3. Modify the TamperBit (attached screenshot) from 01 to 00.
4. Save and reboot to fastboot.
5. Type fastboot oem device-info to confirm.

It's the best recovery tool for Oneplus 2. It's like a Magic. Haha. It fixed my dead Oneplus 2.

Thank you Dev! You did a fantastic job here! ?

Question : Do you still recommend to do the Tamper Reset despite my device is not covered with warranty anymore. Will there be any effects on the performance or conflicts with flashing custom roms in the future.

Thanks again. ?

I owe you a treat. My phone was spoiled by Online agents from one plus and then they were saying that I need to get it repaired at my own cost. I mean, how can authorised team say this to a customer. My phone working flawlessly had some issues with text and they made it a mess. Lots of thanks to you, I could get back my phone working.

Key information

After days of messing with my somehow bricked OP2, this guide really solved it for me. My OnePlus Restore Tool -- though more than 1 gig -- was incomplete. So when I ran the tool, things got worse. It resulted in a rapidly flashing logo screen on the phone.

Clicking the square button on the right labeled only in Chinese, told me in English that I didn't have all the needed files. Once I re-downloaded, I was able to fix my OnePlus 2. Yay!

Hi, this method works perfectly well. I had an issue connecting in BULK mode in Win 10. USer trying this method should try the following way to enter BULK mode -
1. Shut down phone
2. Connect cable to usb
3. Hold volume up and power at same time and then you will hear a sound that a device has been connected to PC
4. Check device manager - In com ports you will Qualcomm QDLoader device
5. Now you can begin the flashing process
