That means you have root but your safetyNet bypass is broken
Are you using some sort of mod or any system modifications? Also some magisk modules can cause that But, as long as root is working for you , unless you're using banking apps or play Pokemon you can be okay without safetyNet

No, I've followed your steps accordingly and have not flashed any other mod yet.. strange...

Titanium backup says I'm not rooted

I had seem problem with you. but now i rooted.
You try again.
Step 1. In safemode you flash this boot.img (link download: https://mega.nz/#!MgJUgLIZ!zFZPUPtwKuaYC7fS5-JK4PTOnJS8z088iUIrr4B3wws)
Step 2. Continue flash recovery.img
step 3. Reboot to Recovery mode, install drmfix.zip
step4. when finish, you flash SafetyNet_CLeaning_Tools.zip, But after slide to flash, you choise option "Add more Zips" choise Magisk-v14.5(1456).zip for flash at the seem time.
step 5. When fisnish flash, reboot and enjoy.
I made it when follow this guide.

Just a wild suggestion, magisk has a module 'universal safetynet fix,' doesn't hurt to try.. :cyclops:

just flash another ftf without tick anything in flashtool and it will be fine, only us variant have no fingerprint scranner, the others have it.

hey, @korom42, big thanks for your work here! i only have one remark/suggestion. the Oreo kernel image mentioned on this page is shared on a non-https service. this is a big security risk, considering what we all carry on our devices these days. could you please at least make it available on a https page/service, the best solution would be a dedicated page (GitHub maybe) with a GPG signature added (i assume you are the dev).

Can I install drmfix manually, because when flash it I got failed to mount /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system at /system: No such file or directory

i flashed Magisk, it said success, but there was no root after i booted device. i haven't done the full wipe, but everything works just fine, except for root.

anyone managed to preserve data partition from nougat but also succeeded in rooting Oreo (Magisk or SuperSu)?

Did you do exactly what the installation steps said my friend?
Like flash oreo ftf
Dont boot up
Fastboot recovery
Then Fastboot boot.img
Then holdpower button + volume key down when it boot up
Release Power key but keep pressing volume down
You enter then twrp
Flash drm fix
Flash safetynet clean tool
Flash magisk
Reboot

Thats it and then you have it all working!!
