@Kunu11 - Can you try the RSD Lite flashing method described here and here.

@tzzeri - Right now flashing seems like a lottery. Some people flash the firmware images fine, others end up with soft-brick. If your Bootloader is locked and you soft-brick, you are basically stuck and will have to return phone to retailer. Until there is a guarantee flashing will be successful I cannot recommend these images being used by those with a locked Bootloader.
OK, although my problem with the boot image not flashing was probably because I skipped out flashing the gpt partition. Either way, I'll leave it at that, I don't want to brick my phone and then be left without a phone while this is getting repaired. I would unlock my bootloader if it didn't void the warranty.

Thanks for all the help

Hello everyone, I followed this post for a long time, and I've seen that many have trouble flashing Factory Firmware Images, in my experience I can tell you that the best way is to use RSD Lite, http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/rooting-roms/motorola-usb-drivers-rsd-lite-firmware-t3042687 I have a XT1543 1GB ram, 16 GB rOM, unlocked bootloader update from 5.1.1 to 6.0 by following this tutorial: https://getmovil.com/motorola/moto-g-2015-android-5-1-1-lollipop/

It takes approximately 12-15 minutes to start, then it works fine.

Thanks to lost101 and the "Firmware Team" for all their work.

@lost101 I am tryin to use RSD Lite, but it is not detecting my phone...trying to work that out...any thoughts?

@lost101 So I was able to use RSD Lite and run the flashfile.xml and still, damn bootloop. I guess there is not much left to do. Question though, do you think with a new image in the future this may get solved? Any other thoughs? Thanks for all your help :)

I expect there will be newer firmware images in the future. For now, can you try flashing the firmware image on another PC and/or in Linux via LiveCD?

why are people bricking their devices when flashing the factory images using fastboot, this is discouraging
The issues only apply to 'some' users with locked Bootloaders. See here for tips that may prevent problems.

The bottom line is that if your Bootloader is locked, you take a risk of getting stuck in a boot-loop with any official or unofficial flashing, that includes OTA Updates. It only seems now, perhaps due to new security measures, that these firmware images are causing a problem for certain users.

Any possibility of a hardware bootloader unlock? I'm suck with a locked bootloader that was partly upgraded to marshmallow and don't want to try and downgrade the bootloader.

Just flash as instructed in first post.

You need to boot Android and enable 'OEM Unlock.' Maybe you can still flash the MM OTA Update via Stock Recovery.

Try copying the all the commands and pasting them in cmd all together. Someone mentioned earlier that it fixes your problem

Sent my phone in for warranty today, dropped it off at the Bell store and they're mailing it back to Motorola. Spoke with Motorola on the phone they said it is still covered under warranty but they didn't ask for a serial number, see how that works out. My bootloader is still locked but I did request and receive a bootloader unlock code from the Motorola website. Takes about 2 weeks to receive the phone back.
