IMPORTANT: Perform a 'Factory data reset' in Android before flashing any Firmware Image
This may be the reason people are getting stuck. For now I can only suggest you flash a custom Stock ROM from here:
Android 6.0 ROMs will be hopefully added in the near future.
Perform a 'Factory data reset' in Android before flashing, and then follow rest of the steps. Report back what happens.I'm on CM13 and would like to revert to stock... What steps do i need to follow?
Bootloader upgraded already via OTP
Worked... Booted now. ThanksPerform a 'Factory data reset' in Android before flashing, and then follow rest of the steps. Report back what happens.
Yes. Factory reset in Android. So its a factory reset, then is manual flashing or rsd lite recommended?
Yes. But always perform a 'Factory data reset' in Android before flashing any Firmware Image.it came with 72-33, and ota is giving marshmallow directly which i dont want, i want 72-65 instead. totally locked (no root before some months) and stock, can i follow your method to update this?
yes i will, i have read all the 34 pages of comments and i learned this much. thanks.Yes. But always perform a 'Factory data reset' in Android before flashing any Firmware Image.
A 'Factory data reset' inside Android. You may only need to flash the sparsechunk files, and erase userdata.yes i will, i have read all the 34 pages of comments and i learned this much. thanks.
edit: should i do it from recovery or inside the OS? and what are the steps to do if i get preflash validation error?
inside android meaning from settings right?A 'Factory data reset' inside Android. You may only need to flash the sparsechunk files, and erase userdata.
There is some degree of risk, but a small one. 'Enable OEM Unlock' in Developer Settings, if you fear worst case scenario, then you have the choice: unlock Bootloader or return phone to retailer.
Yes, in Android settings. You cannot unlock Bootloader without requesting the unlock key. I'm not saying to request anything, only enable that setting.inside android meaning from settings right?
and if i have enabled oem unlock and type fastboot unlock oem, it will unlock my phone? no need to request unlock key from motorola?
