No. Bootloader is still unlocked. It is advisable not to accept OTA but flash the firmware images once you unlock the bootloader. There is a big possibility of bricking your phone if you accept OTA.
OTAs don't care if the bootloader is locked or not. As long as your bootloader, radios, recovery and system versions match, there is no issue taking an OTA. If in doubt, fastboot flash latest stock image, further OTAs should be fine

I have the XT1550 variant. I have extracted all the files but when I try to run the command "fastboot flash partition gpt.bin" it returns an error "error: cannot load gpt.bin". Please help!
Thanks in advance!

That's a fastboot error... Fastboot can't find gpt.bin, are the files you extracted in the same directory as fastboot?

Success with unlocked bootloader and erasing bootloop

As you can see from title flashed a version of SuperSU that caused the bootloop. Did the OP even after flashing w/o big WARNING do factory data reset first. Have since learned to read the posts first. :(. Went through all 83 pages for a few days. Following ALL the steps in the OP is ALL that's necessary. Can't thank you enough lost101. I marvel at your patience. The number of people that ask the same questions is amazing. Should I flash using all steps? Should I flash bootloader? Should I downgrade? All the answers are found with explanations on these pages. Thank you again. Have made a complete backup using twrp boot recovery to an OTG flash drive from stock before proceeding with anything else. As I write have an unlocked bootloader, of course, flashed twrp-osprey-3.0.2-r1.img, flashed supersu zip v2.62-3, (the right version this time)from another part of the forum all working great. Read the posts and you'll find the information you need. Wished I would have done that the first time.:D

@lost101 Will this command relock bootloader or is it just hoax?

Found it somewhere and wanted to ask you.

Thank you!
There is more to it than that on this device, on a (older) Nexus this is all that's needed... There is a thread with instructions on relocking the bootloader, but there is no reason to do it on this device. This is off topic for this thread.

I m using asus zenfone max... I unlocked the bootloader but in csc mode fast boot cant read devices..... I have installed all drivers.. but I cant get it
If you flash these images on your zenfone, your phone **gets doomed**. These fastboot flashable factory images are for Motorola Moto G 2015 variants (osprey and merlin), and not for ASUS devices.
Please post in appropriate thread so you can get help. Thank you :D
Regards.

Sounds like a driver issue. I would suggest going to your devices section though, this section is about adding factory firmware images to Motorola G 3rd gen devices, we have no idea about your specific device and how or if any of the methods are even slightly similar.

Moto g4 Plus stuck at bootloader

Hi,

My Moto G4 plus is now stuck at bootloader. Below are the details of errors that I get

Recovery Mode - Failed to validate recovery image
Start the phone - Failed to validate boot image
Flash stock ROM via ADB - Pre flash validation failed
Flash stock boot.img - Image boot failed validation (Security version Downgare)

I am not even able to unlock the bootloader as the adb returns a message saying I need to toggle 'Allow OEM Unlock" in the Developers Menu. I connot do that as I cannot boot my phone.

Basically anything that I try to do on bootloader mode throws an error saying "Failed to pass validation, back up to fastboot"

Wrong thread, this thread is for Moto G 2015 variants.

Preflash Validation errors mean your using the incorrect factory image, it's older than what's installed (most likely) or for the wrong device. Downgrading is only possible if the bootloader is unlocked, and even then it can be dangerous, so you must use a factory firmware image that is the same or newer version than what's installed... Unfortunately, Lenovo's Moto hasn't been quite as forthcoming with new firmware images as in the past.

I suggest going to the G4 Plus group and asking there, other than basic knowledge most of us can't help you here.
