I've just tried MI9. MD5 matches, but neither 7zip or WinRAR can extract it. Looks like it's corrupted.
I've just downloaded to test and I'm getting the same thing...apparently this MI9 file feels like fighting me. Reuploading the actual tar this time...Not gonna mess around trying to save time with zips. Thanks for bearing with me

MD5 matches what's on AFH. I did find another stock unrooted ROM before I had noticed you uploaded this. The other MI9 ROM is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2481623 I extracted that ROM, compared its MD5 with yours and it doesn't match. Not sure why. But anyway, I ODIN'd that ROM on my phone and everything worked fine...back to stock.

I didn't get the chance to try this ROM any more cuz I already shipped my Note 3 to Samsung for repair. So what I did was I went ahead and launched ODIN w/o any phone attached to my laptop and put in your MI9 ROM. After ODIN had checked its MD5, it said "md5 error! binary is invalid". Perhaps there's something going on with AFH...it could be corrupting files randomly. I dunno.

In any case, I really appreciate your efforts. Thank you!!! :good:

when i load the tar in the AP slot. i get an error.

odin Downloader: md5 error! binary is invaild.

help?
Hey there amigo, first things first, would you mind editing your post and deleting the entire OP from the quote? It's a little tacky to quote the OP without editing down to the thing you have a question about.

Secondly, which tar did you download? I just put both files in Odin and had no problems with either.

excuse my nubish ways,

how do i do that?
No worries man, it's easy. Download this tiny simple MD5 check utility for your PC, I uploaded it to my file hosting site here: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23212708291680065

1) Run MD5 App
2) Open link for the MJ7 tar file in OP (here it is: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23212708291678504)
3) Copy the MD5 code on that page
4) The MD5 app on your PC you just installed will automatically insert this number into the top field (or click paste if it doesn't automatically do this)
5) Click "Browse" on the MD5 app and locate the MJ7 Tar you downloaded and select it
6) The app will check the MD5 of the file versus the MD5 that you copied from the host site and determine if you got a clean download. Don't worry if the md5 app says "not responding" for a minute, it tends to do that on really large files (like these tar files) but it always snaps back and give you a response.

If they don't match then you need to re-download the file - this can happen for a number of reasons.

If they do match then there may be a problem with the file that's being hosted.

Alright, this is tickin' me off now. I'm downloading my own MJ7 file to see if it got messed up in the upload process. It'll be a little while as I don't have the fastest internet but I'll let you know what's up asap. Also weird cause I have 140 downloads on this file and you're the first running into problems. You could, if you're feeling brave, remove the ".md5" from the file name and see if it flashes correctly.

I believe there's an issue with AFH that's causing file corruption.

It's not just DutchDogg54's files that are being affected. I've downloaded a few files in the last couple of days from AFH and I couldn't extract them either. Files are getting corrupted.

This may be a dumb question, but the MJ7 tar file does not wipe data. What if I wanted to completely wipe my phone and start from scratch? Would I just wipe everything in SS (data, system, cache, etc.) and then flash the MJ7 tar file, or is there a better way? Sometimes I just like to wipe everything out and start from scratch.

you would set stock as active in SS then click wipe and swipe to factory reset.
