Bugger, I think I've followed all steps apart from that, network signal guru says I've unlocked band 3 now, but no LTE sadly. So its just the Hardware ID change I guess that I'm missing.
Think I figured it out
go to QXDM, go to Option -> Communication
In Target port, choose your phone com port and press OK
go in View -> Common --> NV Browser, in Category Filter choose LTE. If you have dual sim, check dual sim (subscription 0 for sim 1, 1 for sim 2).
scroll down to ID 1878 and change it to one of the ones @baskaflyfer provided

Let me know if it works. im about to do it as well but I have only my Mac right now.
if it works please post a guide to all your steps, if you can, for everyone

Foll all of you who r in a process of trying,

please either take out your sim first or airplane yoir phone before do any modification,

if you use dual sim, take it out

and, do reboot for every restored QCN,

dont do it in a bulk, it might get messy

This is the right way to do QXDM modifications. Thank you so much sir!

In my testing yesterday (from 1:30am to 3:00am :D ) I missed checking the "subscription 1". Which is why after the reboot I got no signal. I think that was my issue.
Also rmt_storage is located in /system/bin/. So it is located in the system partition. You might want to back that up as well in TWRP before doing anything with that partition. Or you can extract it beforehand and then that'll be your original rmt_storage backup.

I'll try again later :)

EDIT: I tried again. I ran into problems with getting QPST to properly detect my phone. My aim is band 3. I flashed the rmt_storage patch. I flashed A3000cn, then the second A3000cn, then rebooted. I opened up QXDM and changed the hw value to 231 (it was 232). After the reboot I had no signal and QPST was having troubles detecting the phone. It only detects it for a 1 minute right after reboot so in that minute I changed the hw value again to 226 and had the same problem. I restored my system and EFS backups and I'm back to point 0 now with everything (except band 3) working again.

I'm your guinea pig if you need one @otonieru @baskaflyfer . I have an A3000us and want band 3. I do my backups and I try not to screw things over lol.

Hello all, looking forward to unlock 2,4 and 12 for my global model. any updates on the same,
Try the guide from baskaflyfer and see if the bands work ? There's nothing else you can do, the more people do tests and research the more sucess we will have

Try it this way :

pre-step : airplane or take out sim altogether,

1. Hw id to 231
- reboot
2. unlock band 3 through DFS
- reboot
3. restore band 3 QCN
- reboot
4. restore band 3 frbx
- reboot
5. tell us again

remember, when running DFS, QPST and QXDM should be closed, and vice versa,

also the phone should has no radio activity at all during connection

I ended up with no reception at all, and Network Signal Guru doesn't show B3 in the "Supported Bands For LTE" list :(

EDIT (I seem to do that a lot): Can we chat? Hangouts? Telegram? any chat client with desktop support? That way I can test better. PM me where you want to chat and your username/email and we can test together that way :)

I have a3000 US variant tried the steps to unlock band 3 using a3000 CN once and a3003 EU once following the guide on page 34 always results in a boot loop once I turn off airplane mode, I restarted after each single step. Did anyone manage to have a better result than me?

I also had exact same result. But this was before being told to flash, reboot flash, reboot. Then I reset started again and final result was no change. Band was unlocked but no signal sadly.
Reset again and fell asleep. Now I'm at work so can't test until tomorrow or tonight.
