The guide says:

23. If you can confirm that .... , now add more bands as you desired - by put a checkmark on it (remember that even if it enabled, your phone need hardware capability to connect - i only managed to try on band 5 & 8, my country has no others band, so please try it yourself and tell us here the result)

Does that mean I can turn the OP3 into a "world phone" by activating all the applicable bands from NA and EU (1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/20/30/38/40)?

How could it change your IMEI ??? The QCN has no IMEI info inside

But good foor you, you can revert your IMEI.

Meanwhile i might take down the file first to double check

Yeah it change my imei. So i restore my backup of EFS and do open the band using DFS tool you shared. Gonna try the network band once i get out from work.

Am afraid that the config might be different,

Although in my experience, even SD625 & 820 share similar config and can be exchanged

So who knows, 821 and 820 might do same thing,

If you are confident with your ability in restoring back stuff, you might want to try it
I've never flashed an android phone before but I'm willing to try if there was a guide which covers the entire process from start to restore.

Okay, i checked the file and now i add one more extra step just for precaution in a guide.

i also re-edit the QCN so that you guys can simply insert your own IMEI by youserself before restoring it using QPST

although it's kinda weird, because my IMEI did't changed after flashing the file it stay as it is, just like how its written on my OP3 box

Basically you only need :

1. Latest TWRP Installed
2. Backup your EFS partition through TWRP
3. Try the unlocking method
4. See the results, if something is wrong, revert using your backup

So the unlock method only affects the EFS partition?

Also, if the method bricks my phone, i would be able to get it working just by restoring the EFS?

I failed.

I have followed your steps and I failed in the end. At step3, I didn't see the "warning about EFS Partition mismatch" and went into the system directly. Then I continued and went to step22, the bands were not the A3003 actually. So I didn't success. I tried several times and still failed. Could you give me some hint to help me out?

Hello
First of all, thank you for all your hard work. I did all the process on A3000 us modle and I can confirm it does not work on the existing 3-band in my area
Any ideas?

Have you repeat the restoring QCN steps ? and have u input your original IMEI to the QCN using HEX editor prior to restore ?
You can try to do it without using A3003 QCN, and go straight to DFS unlock steps,

also, have you checked your available band after the process using Network Signal Guru ?

Yeah I also noticed that. I have a problem that Oneplus 3's IMEI has 15 digits, but AA AA AA AA AA AA AA AA has 16digits, how to convert that, also, Oneplus 3 has two sim slots, how can I insert two IMEI numbers in to one qcn?

This is not the problem if you convert your imei to hex you get a good hex but i cant find the AA AA AA AA AA in the qnc file so i dont know where to put it
