I need to do this for the LTE CA.
Can I unroot after that ?

Looks like it will take more time than I thought cos my bootloader is locked and unlocking it will wipe all my data.

After this is done, if I flash a new update over, the LTE CA will be gone?

Any rom update will remove the mod. Since the rmt will be reverted.

So, UBL n ROOT need to be maintained

It require root permission to patch system file.

Trying to add CHN bands to US OP3T

Can someone please point me in the right direction to add all the CN bands to my US model A3000US OP3T?


Current setup:
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/8/12/17/30
CDMA EVDO: BC0


Hoping finish with:
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
FDD-LTE : Bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/30
TDD-LTE: Bands 38/39/40/41
TD-SCDMA : Bands 34/39
CDMA EVDO: BC0

Hoping to get all US+CN bands to maximize my coverage by using dual sim on 2 separate networks. If this isn't possible I'd like to add bands LTE 3,39,40,41.

As a side note while on 7.1.2 AOSPExtended and using the rmt patch APK(UnlockOP3T_LTE.apk) from snowwolf725 and it's working fine with the exception of needing to trigger diag adb via command prompt. In APK toggle for diag only works to toggle off but not on. While toggling on it does disconnect the ADB interface but "HTC USB Modem" doesn't show up in device manager.

Any help would be really appreciated. TYIA

Thanks for this. I had to put new hardrive in my laptop lost all drivers etc. This app worked perfectly putting phone into diagnostic mode. Patching the rmt. And I now have band three unlocked on my OnePlus 3 us variant on latest stable oxygen os using @otonieru's qcn.

I think the guide is quite messy (not specifies the file names of qcn files to flash), what I did:
1 - resoted OP3CNCLEANOOS.qcn using qpst
2 - restored fbrx_us.qcn using qpst
3 - updated the nv items using qxdm
4- used the guru app
No LTE,
I know I have LTE coverage since my old phone had LTE here (with the same sim card) @allluke, can you tell me what are the file names of the qcn's you flashed? and their order...

If you are on US model and in need of B3 then what you need is CN QCN n CN fbrx, not US.

I restored my EFS.
Then tried again like you suggested.
Tried to change the nv item to 231 I didn't get LTE so then I tried wih 225, still no LTE.
Any idea?

Explanations

Can someone please explain in detail why do we need all these steps to get LTE?
This is how I understand it:
rmt patch - makes the changed we do persistent.
flashing QCNs - makes the US model think he is the CN model (in which band 3 is open). why do we need 2 QCNs ?
nv item value update - I don't know, maybe another settings that is like the CN model which is not part of the QCN image...
Please correct me if I'v mistaken

Is there a way to verify all steps were performed correctly? like backing up to QCN and check some values?

Okay I manage to unlock band 3 and every cn bands on my us OP3 OOS 4.1.3 , with my imei's and I used the new 4.1 patch for rmt storage, I got full LTE working.

This is exactly what is did:
1. I was with US OP3 4.0.3, I followed the guide , flash the rmt storage patch for 4.0.x
2. then I flash OP full CN QCN file he shared a long time ago (and he deleted it for safety), I did it because only in this way I got LTE on the phone, but the imei wasn't mine.
3. After that I created a backup for the efs in TWRP.
4. Then I update the system, through OTA,in the first appempt the update failed then the system boot up and asked me if I want to try again, in the second time it download the full system file, I update it and it works,
5. After the update my TWRP was deleted so I flash it again and root the device again.
6. I flashed the new 4.1.x rmt storage patch.
7. I backup again the efs, and I restore the efs I backup before I update the system,
8. Then it works I got LTE and my imei was mine.

The patch link - *I blocked the link because for now it's not stable*

OP please respond because without you this way wasn't work. If someone want he need full qcn file for this.

P.s I don't know if the new storage patch did something or not, maybe I just needed to restore the privious efs backup and that's it.
If someone can try it and tell us if this working or not.

Hey guys,

I'm currently living in the United States and I use T-Mobile as my mobile provider.(LTE: 2/4/12)
The issue is that I accidentally bought a Chinese OPT3 (A3010) off of ebay, which doesnt support these bands. I dont think I've been flashing the correct qcns, because I've gotten no signal from bands 2,4,12 respectively.
I'm trying to find a reason not to get rid rid of this phone. Is there any suggestions you guys can give me regarding this? And I thank you all in advance.

In the same boat been trying to unlock them no way to unlock I get band 4, 12 and 17 with no signal trying for 4 months time to get rid of this phone

Since B3 is quite tricky one as it seems, some get it work, some has lesser luck,

sometimes its like that am lying about the trick, although am pretty sure am not, LoL
