Backup and Recovery IMEI with QPST Tool

In this tutorial you learn how to make an backup of your IMEI. Qualcomm developes for customers a lot of interesting tools, QPST is the most important suite for us, because with this tools we can: flash , unbrick , restore imei and do other stuff for our phones .

With modding (and bad flashing) every days, a lot of people lost their imei. For prevent bad situation is better if we start to learn how to do an backup of an IMEI and NVRAM configuration, is easy and secure. The most sicure way.

For do this you need :
- Windows 7 (or 8.1) x64 ;
- QPST 2.7 ;
- QDLoader HS-USB drivers pack ;
- ADB & Fastboot ;

STEPS:
- Install drivers and QPST, reboot the PC ;
- Enable developer settings on your device ;
- Enable Debug on your device ;
- Connect the phone on the PC ;
- If don't* popup an "Diasgnostics Port COM" on device manager (usually this port is enabled in the factory rom)

*Open an cmd window and enable it with this command "Diagnostics Port" with this commands:
adb shell
su
setprop sys.usb.config diag

(now Diagnostics port will popup)
- Open QPST configuration and add the port "Ports" ----> "Add new port" ----> Add the name of the port (for example COM5)

- Now click on "Start Clients" ------> "Software Download" -----> "Backup"

- Add an name at this file, select the folder and push "Start" (don't disconnect the phone!!)
- When process is complete, you have an "xqnc" file full working, with your imei and nvram configuration stored.

WITH THIS METHOD YOU CAN RESTORE HOW MUCH TIME YOU WANT THE IMEI.

Apparently (from my failed experience) one of the requirements of this technique is the phone needs to be already rooted.

If that's the case, it'd be great to have it added to the first post.

Thanks

The QPST Configuration tool worked as a charm without any errors whatsoever. I have just one query. The XQCN file generated is 989 kB in size. Is that the right size? If not, what size should it be?

Same problem here.

The backup stops forever at 99%
I also tried to change port but the problem remains.
The Drivers seems to work.

I tried twice and the result was the same, a 1074kb archive.
