Hi guys. I've had big problems with my Xperia S flashed to Trinity Vengeance RaptorXL V3.8 VM-10.1. What I did was first root phone, than install CWM and than flash that custom rom. Everything went ok until first reboot after installation. Phone wouldn't boot! Only thing I could was to soft reset and hard reset via power button and vol key up or down and I got green or blue led and that's about it! I tried to flash original ROM via flashtool but what ever I did phone wouldn't go into flashmode. I left my phone all day on wall charger and I got red led but still phone wouldn't go in flashmode.
But FINALLY I did it and revert it to original ROM. My problem was Windows 8.1 and USB drivers. Fresh Windows 7 install on other hdd and instalation of drivers located in Flashtool-drivers helped me to get into flashboot! I've tried once more to flash Trinity ROM but than again no boot for my phone so I revert it to Original ROM. Now I have to install one more official update cca 30mb when battery gets to 50% or more.

So don't lose faith and be patient you will fix it. I was desperate but persistent. If I can do it so can you! For now I will enjoy it with original ROM. Cheers.

did you try removing and reinserting the battery?
Guyzz, PLEASE HELP ME OUT...! I dismantled the entire phone( my Sony Xperia J which i think is soft bricked) hoping that it would reset the phone. I did not know which one was the battery ribbon cable, so i unplugged and reinserted every ribbon cable inside the phone. But on re assembling the phone is the same as before..red led flashing 3 times when pressing the power button!! IF I WAS WRONG PLEASE FILL ME WITH CORRECT PROCEDURE TO UNPLUG THE BATTERY RIBBON CABLE..:(:(:(

If i were you i would have taken it to service center.

Waiting so long can sometimes be harmful.

Hi again . Let me tell you something.

I took my phone to a technician . The technician uncapped the phone, take out the battery and the " revived " . Because according to him, the battery was completely dead. Then returned to replace the battery and try to turn on the phone . But nothing happened ! Then delivery tel me and tells me I'm telling this to pcs. I tell him on: If the phone has the wrong software , not turn the truth ? He stayed silent. I bother ! Take my phone and left.
Only charged me for " revive" the battery. Right now I have the tel loading , I'll leave a few hours .
One question: If the phone has bad software , do not turn right? .
Previously , about four weeks , take my tlf another technician . And he said that flashing with " success " . But tlf encendia not , why not load second battery . But now the battery is good. (according to the last technician that will take the phone) .

What should I do ? I leave it charging for a few hours ? And then try to flash ?

PD: Where I live , these technicians are not very good . u_u

Still nothing...

Great guide! I'm having some trouble though... backstory, i've got an xperia T lt30p and had it for two months, i loaded cm10.1.2 on it when i got it and has been great. two weeks ago it got really hot in my pocket and when i pulled it out the screen was black. I wouldn't respond to any keys for resetting it and since i didnt have any way to remove the battery at the time, i left it on the table and decided to stick it on a charger when it died so it would reset itself. after it sat for around 30 min, it started bootlooping from the cm spinning logo and such for about an hour. then it booted up. i held down the power key to bring up the menu to power it down and it started bootlooping again for around 30 mins. it booted up again and was able to shut it down. when i got home i plugged it into the charger and left it overnight. came back in the morning, no lights were on and it wouldnt respond. so i left it unplugged for a week. messed with it again and the red light would come on for ~10 mins as soon as i plugged it in, then would turn off. if i hold the power button, the red led blinks as long as i hold it. if i hold the vol up the blue one will come on and fastboot will talk to it. did some research and tried reflashing the cm10.1 cwm boot.img, thinking it might get it going again to no avail, after flashing nothing happens different. so more research brought me here and i tried your guide. I tried using flash mode and using flashtool. it sees the phone fine, but when i begin the flash it immediadely kicks itself off and stops the flash, so i extracted the kernel from the ftf file and flashed it using fastboot mode on flash tool and still nothing changes... after having flash or fastboot mode on for a few mins it will disconnect and turn on the red light for a few mins, then the green one will come on and blink every ~15 secs. holding the vol up or down w/power just makes the red light blink and does nothing else and the screen never comes on. also took the phone apart and disconnected the battery, tried it again and no change... Is my phone seriously bricked?? or is there hope? Thanks for any help in advance!!

attached is my log (if i can do it right) and im using osx 10.8.5 on MBP for flashtool

Just let the process of flashing go on.. It can take up to 5 hours! (Or more)
Mine took 4-5hrs and was glad that it came back to life when I saw the flashing was completed!
Just keep your PC on and off the screen timeout to NEVER so that the process can run :)

Good Luck! :D
The fact is... I can't even enter flashmode, let alone actually flashing the phone...

Guys I need help. My SX Ion led is on red when I plug it on PC or in the wall but I can't turn it on. Every after 20 or 30 mins the Sony Logo pops out. But it only stops there, it will turn off again and show the Sony Logo again. Then after 1 min or 2, it goes back to that red led again. That's the cycle. I tried holding the Vol Down button while the Sony Logo is up but it won't enter the flash mode :( help guys.

Please help !

Hi there,

First of all thank you for the many tips.
So here's the current actual state ....

- USB phone without any function.

- With the USB charging cable - permanently> LED RED GREEN ... then .... then permanently display Hing round lights on and off with zich ... repeats until the game starts from the beginning with durable LED RED ....

- Durable With USB to PC, then ... RED LED GREEN FLASH MODE.

- Power + Volume Up also works! 1x 3x vibration and vibration

- Flashed with flashtool last Ion firmware. -> USB cable -> device will not turn any function.

So I get both the flash and in the Fastboot mode, but only when the device is connected to the PC via USB.

I'm so slow at my wits end ...

You estimate how much standby time a battery of 2330 mAh would have?
People with around 50% battery have reported red LED after 3 days.

So i guess it would be more in your case.

But if you are not ready to wait so long you will have to take it to service center.

You can also get rid of this first (Dead phase) by resetting the battery cable as i did with my phone. But i don't think one can easily dismantle an xperia Z :p
Thanks but the phone has been connected to wall charger for 15 days... no red led... Snif!!!! :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

any suggestions?

I have tried to use Emma, but was unable to logon to the software, and i didnt get a reply back to register the software.. not sure where to go from here..
you have to follow instructions..
you need to place customization.ini inside the emma installation directory
