Hello all.

I came across this post while trying to fix my xperia T.

My xperia t will not power on.
It has no lights.
I plug it in no lights.
I plug it in to use flash tool and holding volume down does nothing.
I hold the power and volume up and nothing happens.
The phone is dead and does nothing.
I have left it in charging for 24 hours and still nothing.
I have left it for another 24 hours not connected to anything and still no lights, blinks or any sign of life.

My xperia t is branded and it's boot loader is locked.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Let it charge till you get lights. My ion took two days charging before I could get it back to life.

My ion is as the same problem as that Xperia T. Now I'm Charging it with EP850 for .... 35 minutes so far.
I hope it will be back..... (I'm worried because I've unlocked bootloader.)

But actually I bricked my ion two months ago and it was the same problem. I charged for 2 hours only with stock SE charger.

BTW, what will happen if I do a hard reset during the boot loop?

ching i'm sure your phone is not dead i have exactly same problem

step 1: launch flashtool and load your tft file

step2: wait popup plug usb cable

step3: plug your phone in pc with volume down if your phone not recognize , test power up manually with phone conected if boot in bootloop is good

during bootloop , phone not reconize it's normal

step4: dont disconect your phone during bootloop , just soft reset your phone with volume up + power , wait for 1 vibrate release the button and push imidiately volume up,

your phone enter in flashmode with green led (if the green led not solid probally your phone need more battery for flashtool finish the flash) flashtool begin flash

if flashtool abort flash your phone need more batterie , charge your phone and return to step 1

ps: very hard to enter in flashmode but possible i try 6 or 7 time

sorry for my english
yeah, finally, Successful to flash the rom in my ION and running normal now~~~:victory::laugh:

I have similar problem with Ching.

My phone is charging now, with the blank screen on at all times, and the red charging light solid for 6 seconds then blinks and repeats this process.
.
I tried to soft reset by power up + power but nothing happens, i.e no vibration and it does not power off.

I tried to flash via flashtool by setting upt he firmware and entering flash mode. However, holding the power down button and plugging it into the computer does not enter flash mode (red light does not turn green)

Any help please??

LT28h, unlocked bootloader (hopefully this is not a problem)

Thx

I just get my phone back to life :))
This is how situation happened:
I went into CWM and accidentally format system. The rom.zip is corrupted so i couldn't flash rom (I forgot to make nandroid backup).
At that time my ion's battery just around 5%. I couldn't turn off my phone so i let it running til the battery is dead.
This is how i solve the situation:
After the battery totally drained out and the phone turned off, i plug it in wall charger.
then i see red light on, i keep it charging for around 15-20 minutes then i see green light and sony logo appear.
then i quickly setting up flashtool and get my phone flashed.
then i plugged the phone into wall charger and let it charge again.
then the red led turned on, after a while (15 mins) i see sony logo appear (around 10 mins)
then the phone restared,
then after a while i see sony setup. My phone back to life now.

Flashed custom repacked kernel.elf :( Bricked NO Power+VolUp

Not again.

My phone is bricked again.

Flashed Xperia S kernel.elf by mistake. Any one done this by mistake or knowingly?

The phone is dead now. Charging it. Hope, it comes back to life.:fingers-crossed:

How did you recover it.

Mine was at 95% battery at 10:30 (Flashed Bad Kernel.elf and Brickkkked) and i have plugged in wall charger No LED .

How long i will have to wait, and what would be next step to get FLASHMOD?

Please Help

bricking ION

Well i have a lot of experience with bricking ION.
I have LT28i but i think it does not make any difference than the normal H version....

First off i installed paranoidandroid rom via CWM, it all went smooth and it said in instructions that you have to restart your device and then enter the fastboot mode, well after i pressed restart from CWM it started with boot loops, sony logo fades into yellow and so on... I knew that there is soft reset (press volume up + power, if you hold it longer it does hard reset)...

So i started off with soft reset what did not make any difference, still boot looping sony logo.... next step hold it a bit longer and hard reset.... after that phone dead, no led no screen nothing- tried SEUS and other software didnt make any difference... left the phone on the charger for 1,5 days, then i saw red charging led blinking but nothing (i used 2AMP charger, it did not do anything with normal charger), after couple of hours phone i saw sony logo and again boot loop, i did find a solution tho, just after hard reset (volume up+ power for 30 sec), then wait 2 seconds (before it starts to bootloop again, have to be precise) i pressed volume up and inserted my usb cable what was connected to laptop. Phone successfully entered fastboot mode, and then i was able to flash OC-ed 1.73GHz kernel into it and after restart everything beatiful, no bootloops everything fine!

Then i got sick of paranoidandroid (because i loved the 3d panorama feature in stock ics and i have 120hz 3d screen on my pc) and decided to revert back to original software. I thought it was easy, but well it was not. I had 2 different original FTF files for flashtool, but flashtool did not flash them !!!

[09/032/2012 15:32:54 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode

I managed to flash the FTF with flashtool, when i unchecked wipe data, wipe cache, wipe app logs- i got my stock software back yeiii!!! But happy times did not last long, the phone calling feature did not work and contacts crashed, so i was unable to recieve or make calls, i did clean dalwik cache and cleaned cache of many com.androidxxxx processes but no success...

I was pretty angry that when i thought everything was fixed and back to normal, i have no calling feature on the phone, what makes the phone useless brick. I tried to reflash original FTF with flashtool but it was not flashing it! Next step was idiotic step i thought if i flash another kernel via fastboot i will be able to flash my phone to normal...
I did flash unsecure kernel on the phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751065 and after that again Bootloop Sony logo :(
I tried to get it into flash mode and flash, but phone did not respond to flash request- so i was stuck with boot looped xperia for a while until phone was DEAD AGAIN after hard reset... It took 1 day for the phone to discharge and it STARTED AGAIN (boot loop).

I decided there are not many options i can do (as flashtool does not flash FTF, only flashes kernels in fastboot mode(if you are lucky enough to get into that mode)+ and i had CWM working
So i redownloaded paranoidandroid rom zip and google apps, installed them with CWM, and i was enough lucky to get the phone into fastboot (using hard reset + quick connecting usb cable)

I flashed 1.73GHz kernel successfully and my phone was working again, but in this damn paranoidandroid, what is not a bad rom (much smoother than original ics) but have some limitations..

So this is my story of Xperia ION modding, i do believe that sony is far behind competitors (HTC, SAMSUNG) when it comes to flashing and installing kernels and custom roms... If something will go wrong (and in my case it went wrong every time) you maby will be stuck with bootlooping device forever :)

I will wait until sony will release their jelly bean and then il try to flash jelly bean FTF with flashtool again.. but for now i just hope that paranoidandroid team will fix HDMI, choppy camera performance etc... because i am literally stuck with this ROM:)))

Thanks for reading and i hope that it was helpful for somebody who is really desperate about his xperia ion being alive again, dont give up!!!:cowboy:

You enter flashmode for ftf flashing, volume down and plug in cable. Fastboot for kernels, volume up and plug in cable.

I Flashed Custom kernel and got Briked (Boot Loops) at 9th Dec Morning 10:30AM
Did Hard Reset and phewwww Phone is Completely Dead Unresponsive.

then after reading forum Kept on Charging ,,Initially No LED Light.

After 12 hrs (Night 01:00AM) i Got Red Flashing LED RED , Flashing 5 second then Stop for 7-8 second then Flash 5 sec......Repeating
( Nothing responding Flashmod/Fastbootmod) tried Vol.Down / UP

Few Minutes Later LED became Constant RED.

After 20 past that 10th Dec 19:10 i removed it from charger and tried FASTBOOT/FLASHMOD No response again.

Then I LET THE PHONE PLUGGED IN THE LAPTOP AFTER 5 Minutes it started Boot Looping again.
Tried Flash/FastBoot Mods Nothing Mod Responded. After Few Tries Phone Became the Same.

THIS TIME SOMETHING CLICKED IN MY MIND THAT IF I PLUG IN THE PHONE IN LAPPY IT WILL START BOOTLOOPING AGAIN.

IT DID :D

NOW I TRIED FLASHMOD NO SUCCESS.

THEN IN BETWEEN KEPT ONLY ( VOL.UP) Pressed And BOOOOM It Went in FASTBOOOTMOOOD.

Soon After that i flashed Stock Kernel.sin

Then Restarted IT.

My Phone Showed SONY Logo and Xperia Soon After That. BUT when it turned on Battery was 0% And Itself Shutdown Automatically. Now i am CHarging IT with wall charger. I Know i resurrected my Phone Now I AM Feeling Like :victory: I WON :D

So Here is the Thing For You Who Bricked His/her Phone Don't get panic, you will make your phone alive eventually, Keep Patience my friend & a good wall charger. Mine is ep 850 1500mA :D

I was Going to Send it back to the seller as i have seller warranty :p

But My frnd told bro w8 and give it few more tries....And Indeed It Worked And My Phone is Alive from Big Sleep So your's Would Be Alright Too.

Don't Turn On the Phone In Between this, just try Soft/ Hard Rest ( Vol.Up+ Power) / ( Bol.DOwn +Power) . Otherwise It will take more time to charge discharge and Phone will be unresponsive.

try Pressing Both One by One [Volume.Down] or [Volume.UP] In Between Boot Loops. You'll get FastBoot or Flashmod and then

Dont screw this chance,, Keep Kernel.sin and ftf file in Firmware folder of FLASHTOOL alwayz.

If you don't get Boot Loops Then Remove Usb Cable

After 30 Seconds Plug In To Laptop and wait For 5-8 minutes Still No then again remove for 30 seconds and put It to wall charger for 2 hrs.

And Then Retry.

Still No Success :( Don't Freak Out, Keep It On Wall CHarging for another Cycle ( It Will Drain Out Battery and Will Give Boot Loop Again)

-If you get Green Light Simply Unplug and try FLash/Fastboot Modes.

If Still No Response :( then Plug into Laptop for 5-6 minutes and See if above you get boot loops then try above steps.

BUT DON'T GIVE UP....

Many Thanks To People Who Have Shared Their Experiences Here.. Keep It Up Guyz.:good:

I did a hard reset by accident. Then I've charged it for SEVEN DAYS. Now still nothing happened.

So sad.

Plug It In Computer and Leave it for 5-10 minutes

Does it Give Boot Loop If Yes then

try pressing Vol.Up or Vol.Down In Between Bootloops and Connect Cable to Computer

If you get success let me know.

If you get success let me know.
My wife was using the phone xperia ion and crashed.
Her phone has no root. It is factory original.
Pressing only the power nothing happens.
I tried to recover it with the soft and hard brink, but nothing happened.
When the plug into the outlet after 15 minutes the exact sony logo appears and flashes (just white and then yellow).
Right now I can do the soft or hard brink, but the phone will not boot.
I tried to fix it by ITS, but the computer does not recognize the phone by pressing the volume down + power. Recognizes only if I press power + volume up when the logo appears and the computer recognizes
fastboot mode (blue LED on the phone). When I try to send a kernel or any other file appears an error message stating that the phone has no root.
How do I recover my phone?
thank you

Fastboot, blue led, is only for unlocked bootloader. To get flash mode press only the volume down, no power button

Bricked : try It

1 ) Did You try Flashmode after HARD RESET

To Do it Press Power + Vol.UP for a while untill you get 3 vibrations not single vibration.
Then Phone will be off completely.
Then Run Flash tool and select LT28 Firmware (Stock One or the one which you have tested earlier working fine) ---> No Final Verification
When Flashtool asks for Phone

Just Press Volume.Down Button and Nothing else [Keep It Pressed] and Connect Cable to PC.
Now Your Pc will recognize it as Flashing Device and Flashtool will FLash it.

If Not Dont get Panic. Try Charging for a more time and retry.
And dont ever press the power button only as your phone is having some booting problem it wont startup and will stuck for longer,
then you'll have to discharge - and recharge the battery

2)If you ever got BLUE light means you can also flash the phone.
little bit time taking way BUT YES ITs a SOLUTION

Firstly Extract the FTF File inside any Folder You want using 7Z utility.

Goto Flashtool

Click Big Thunder ICON ---> Select Fastboot Mode ---> Select Kernel to flash --> Kernel.sin File from the folder where you have extracted
----> Select System to Flash -- >System.sin from same folder

-----> Now Click ---> reboot device into system

But Make sure You have installed all the drivers from ( C:\FLASHTOOL\DRIVERS\Flashtool-drivers.exe)

Let Me Know If it Fixes Ur Problem if not then tell what exactly caused this and When did it happened

Don't Freak Out --> Its Time Taking But Works :cowboy:

During boot loops, make sure its not plugged in, do a soft reset(1 vibration). With the phone off, get flashtool ready to flash (see the first post of this thread for getting flashtool ready for tricks). Then plug in while holding volume down. You should get green led and flashing should start

Thank you, I reply lately because no sign to fix my phone, so I tried to send it to repair service in my country.
And today they call me to return the still bricked one back.

The problem is they couldn't flash stock because there are no idea to restore bootloader without online updater, I see.
And the battery is now remain 3-4% after they tried to directly charge, this make me serious because it required 50% remaining for flashing again.
So there are no way I can charge it because get a new one and take battery apart to charge in another phone is impossible.

I think I'll try again when I get my phone back, at least some 1-2% battery remains maybe some luck to flash kernel and charge function may working again. :crying:

Don't Panic Just Charge Your Phone and Follow this proc(Mine was 2-3% when i flashed)

Don,t Worry Just Don't Touch the Power Button Only.

Let It Charge For around 10 minutes then try these procedures one by one

There are two things you might need to know
[[a]] IF YOU ARE NOT GETTING RESPONSE FOR HARD RESET(3 vibration) AND SOFT RESET(1 vibration) by pressing { Power + VOL.UP}
SIMPLY PLUG YOUR PHONE TO WALL CHARGER
UNTILL YOU GET CONSTANT RED/ORANGE LED. Mine took 20 hrs to get red led from NO LED(Off) to RED LED BLINKING.

[] {BLINKING RED LED WON'T BE A PROBLEM} JUST GIVE IT MORE TIME, Can Take Few Minutes and utop hrs to GET CONSTANT RED LED,

Main target is either getting Boot Loop OR getting Hard /Soft reset into WORK, if you still haven't got it, Charge it for 10 minutes in wall charger AND.

[ Setup the Flashtool with FTF of Your NXT Phone and when it asks for Phone] (((( Just Plug In Your Phone Into PC for 5-15 minutes )))

If You Got Boot Loop Means You're One Step Close
:good:

1) Try Power+VOL.UP for Single Vibration (Soft RESET) If you get Single Vibration then quickly Press the Volume UP Button, while keeping it pressed Connect the USB to PC.

If Dont get Blue Light then again do SOFT RESET and Try.

try it with Usb already Connected too Keep usb Plugged in and Soft reset the phone and quickly press Volume.UP button keep it pressed till you get Blue Light If turned out to be red try again .

Keep it in mind that if you got boot loop or you can reset the phone you are only One Step close :good:

Now Blue led / fastboot mode gives you an option to flash kernel.sin and system.sin separately so extract it from ftf file using 7-zip.
and start Flashtool Click Thunder icon --> select Fastboot --> select kernel to flash ---> (select kernel.sin which you extracted from ftf) --> NO flash it and then -----> Select System to Flash ---> (Select the System.sin from extracted location)

2) If you Don't get any response from your phone Just Keep it in Wall charger for another cycle to complete It may take 10-24hrs If you don't get success even after that try for another 10-15hrs to get Green LED like Our frnd Spectre Style (Keeps on Charging for 2 days to get GREEEN)

Don't think that if you dont have 50% then you can't

When i Flashed i had only 2-3 % battery And when Phone turned On it showed 0% and instantly Switched off. and guess what i had put it on charging for 2 days. So It Doesn't matter Just make sure you do 10 minutes of charging for the further flashing thats all.

I was modding the kernel i messed up with kernel itself, wrong RPM.bin/symlinks (long story), Did Hard Reset and phewww Phone was Completely UNRESPONSIVE, and by my procedure got it successfully recovered . Don't freak out you'll eventually do it...

This NXT series needs charge charge and charge (battery charge OR will eat up your minds charge) :p But still Love it :highfive:

btw What is Your Situation, Tell me frankly what was it you messed with :p

My reply is Sooo Big but yes can make it your phone alive, So Put Phone on Charger if you have it right now , and read from top to bottom and decide in which situation your phone is right now. Make a note of what happened when what you did, as this will help ppl when you share it. ;)
