There is no root for 98.18.94 or 98.30.1 without VooDoo root maintenance or an unlocked boot.

Also, if your bootloader is unlocked, all you need to regain root is to flash a SU .zip in recovery. Here's the link to SuperSU
Known Methods: (4.1.2 builds): [The build numbers may vary but the dates are good milestones.]
There are 2 states of affairs about unlock/root ability.
1) Unlock ability: If your build is earlier then this one (9.8.1Q-78) MAY 24 2013, a Bad Day for all of us.
UnLock your BootLoader before you take the OTA. Motopocalypse.apk

Matt's Utility (for unlocking, rooting & restoring 9.8.1Q-66 & older)(some have used matt's for various 9.8.1Q-78 & 94 duties)
If your boot was not unlocked before ...78 or ...94 it is forever (in my estimation) locked!
Once your boot is unlocked, moto has not yet relocked it. While they could, it could open legal questions. So with each new release there could be a risk.
Locked users:

Use VooDoo RootKeeper before you take the OTA
Use VooDoo with any build. With this link you can keep it on your SD card.
Useless when restoring with RSD lite.

Is there a "roll back" option for 98.18.94 OR 98.18.78 to a previous build?
