[GUIDE] [ROOT] Enable 4K UHD video recording on your Note 5 Pro!

Alright I haven't seen anyone find this yet, so I'll post it here. You WILL need root access to continue.

DISCLAIMER - I've tested this on the MIUI 8.4.3 global beta (oreo) only, but i guess it might work on all miui versions. Please report your results.

Okay enough talking, lets get to it.
1. Open /system/etc/device_features/whyred.xml
2. Find the line that says "support_camera_4k_quality"
3. Change the "false" to "true", then save the file. (check attached screenshot)
4. Reboot and boom, you have UHD 4K option under video resolution

That's pretty much it! Cheers

Nah nothing like that is present here.

I recorded two videos. One with 1080P and other with 4K. Have a look at the resolutions in VLC.

How much fps do 4k videos have? Redmi note 3 for example has 26,25fps with 4k, that's why i'm asking.

Almost all third party cameras allow that. This guide is for enabling it in stock camera.
