Not going to lie, I had a nightmare getting this to work, but flashing the official firmware helped when things went wrong after the rom failed to flash correctly. However after a couple more attempts, I finally got the patched AP and then Magisk installed. However Smali Patcher isn't working 100% it's hit and miss if it will load Magisk at boot and in any instance the patch module doesn't appear in the manager app, so I can't enable it.

Now I'm getting an OTA update to take the system from M307FXXU1ASI2 to M307FXXU1ASJ2/M307FODM1ASJ1/M307FXXU1ASJ1 (1st August '19). I've held off on installing the update because I'm sure I'll loose root & Magisk - is this correct? Can I install it, or wait until this version of the firmware is out in the wild and repeat the patch/flash process again?

we need developer
A-men brother! I'd love Lineage running on this handset.

We already have firmware for M307FXXU1ASJ2 and you need to patch it again before flashing to get magisk work. OTA update will remove Magisk.

Thanks for the heads up santhoosh. I've not been able to find it for Region BTU, which is why I assumed it wasn't available. Is there any chance you (or someone) can point me in the right direction? Cheers!

Comment if someone got success in Rooting m30s..!!
I succeed, and M30s India version is now rooted so that I can use the bloody tasker thing.........

But occasionally, phone re-boot itself when startup...... After 3 to 4 re-boot. Phone get steadily work all day the same day.

The reboot happens just when phone startup, like when I wake up and turn on phone in the morning.

Must need say BIG THANKS to author santhoosh member on page 1 to his work of this Magisk patch otherwise we are unable to enjoy root as there is not TWRP for M30s. Thanks mate!!!!!

I see that you've already resolved your issue, but in case someone will have the same question:
-- I would suggest to download official firmware and patch it "manually" -- using Magisk. I tried such approach and it was proposed in "header post" as well.

Yes, absolutely. I tried using the pre-patched AP that was in the first post, but after it failed to flash I thought that making my own patched version would be better. I'm having to constantly ignore the notification request to install the update until the new rom becomes available for my region, which is a bit of an annoyance, but everything else is working perfectly.

Hi, I applied method 1. It works.
But now I have a problem. If I restart my device, I lost root privileges.
In order to get them again, I have to reset my device and to start again method 1.
What do you think?
Thanks.

Hello,

What to do to the latest firmware updates recently pushed from Samsung?

They one that with new camera function together with Samsung shop apps.........

I'm using your patched firmware from the last firmware update and want to see if you would also patch magisk on the latest update for my Indian M30s.

Thank you very much.

Edmond

Proper step to turn on phone:

Press and hold volume up
Together with power on key

When Samsung logo appear, immediately release all buttons.

Then it will be Magisk activated.
