Anyone with the Moto g6 play that has changed the filesystem from f2fs to anything else boot back into twrp and change filesystem back to f2fs and wipe delvik cache and wipe cache as well if twrp is unaccessible then as my friend in the post above has said twrp should error an go back to main screen if not please follow his instructions to fix in fastboot or also with fastboot run

Fastboot erase cache
DO THIS BEFORE INSTALLING MAGISK OR SUPERSU TO ROOT!
Re-flash stock firmware via fastboot and reboot (**let the device completely reboot and finish setting up**)
AGAIN BEFORE INSTALLING MAGISK ROOT
once rebooted and set up is complete enable adb again then reboot into fastboot flast twrp install magisk manager in twrp and remember if you changed the filesystem and you are unable to boot system then reboot twrp recovery change file system back to f2fs wipe delvik cache and cache in twrp now reboot this should fix your problem.

PS you might try googling Moto g6 play twrp back up *hint this has always been my go-to option when using a PC wasn't possible for whatever reason my only access to Internet was another phone or tablet to download and save to SD card then put in the bootlooped device and try whatever it was I found not the best option but in a pinch it works.
Lastly Pro-tip DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT LET YOUR G6 BATTERY DRAIN PAST 0% ie SAY YOUR PHONE IS AT 5% AND YOUR PLAYING WITH TWRP AND WHATNOT YOUR PHONE WILL STAY ON UNTIL ITS PAST THE POINT OF NO RETURN AND WILL NOT CHARGE OR POWER ON NOT EVEN WITH THE CHARGER PLUGGED IN THIS IS WHY I DONT CURRENTLY HAVE MY DEVICE
