I'm running the command on my PC and adb devices doesn't show anything
Make sure Command Prompt is running from the directory where you have ADB executables. Otherwise, set up systemwide ADB using Environment Variables.

Assuming you have Win10, navigate to the folder where your ADB files are, click in the address bar, and type CMD. That will open a command prompt from that working directory.

Reboot into Android, and make sure you enabled USB Debugging. If you can't get your computer to see the phone, you can't pull the kernel. Also check Device Manager and make sure your phone is detected by Windows.

You need to boot the phone from TWRP, but do not flash it.

You only need TWRP to pull the boot.img. After that, you won't need it again.

I hate to rub it in, but I just can't resist it.

I got an 8 Pro yesterday, and was able to unlock and root in 15-20 minutes - mostly because I would type sometime wrong at times. Latter the same day, a very large update came out, and would have taken only a few minute to install and re-root (did not have to un-root to do it, nor anything else) as most of the time was due to how large it was.

It is a Global (AA) model, and the US one has all the bands i need for TM0 (I started this because the rootable Samsung models not only did not have US 5G, nor some of the recent LTE bands also. So I got the TMo McLaren model, as I had no idea what was coming soon.

I want to thank the 2 of you (you know who I am talking about) for all your help. Its running pretty good, but its a bit of a dead end as far as development. Come-on over!

Very nice! Yeah this phone is a special case. LOL. I will be jumping ship, but not for a while. And I probably will go back to Google or something. I don't know. But definite congrats to you!

Just sold mine. Someone wanted it with unlocked bootloader, but asked too many questions and some one else grabbed it. He only wants sim unlock.

So with fastbooted, is it simply be "fastboot oem lock" ? Ant that also wipes everything?

If you're selling the phone, I'd strongly suggest running the MSM tool to fully restore the phone to stock, which will wipe all data and also lock the bootloader again.

I tried the quick way (it wipes everything also), but i made a little mistake in the process and ended up with a corrupted device.

Thank god for the MSM tool. I flashed .27 to see it it would update after it booted up. Its doing .34 as I am typing this.

just making sure with you guys that have rooted.... i've heard that if you root/unlock bootloader on the 5g mclaren from tmobile that it breaks stock OTA updates permanently, even after restore. this sounds ridiculous but wanna make sure with you guys this is not the case? thanks!

It blocks when it doesn't have stock unrooted kernal and one other file. Many people have updated OTA's and it has been well documented.

Not the case. All you have to do is unroot and restore stock boot image, then the OTA will install.

However, after the initial bootloader unlock, you have to restore the userdata.img file that gets deleted, or else OTAs will fail. This only has to be done one time.

I unlocked and rooted my 1925, everything went according to the first post, I didn't have to switch active partition.

Only thing now is, when I totally power off and plug it in for charging, my phone is stuck in an endless loop. I see the 1+ logo screen, then the unlocked bootloader warning screen, then black and it repeats again, buzzing each time.

How can I keep it charging when powered off and not have this loop?

Sounds like you might have flashed to the wrong partition. Maybe. I would go into fastboot mode and check which partition is active and just make "b" active if it isn't. Then boot up from your patched magisk .img again, go into magisk manager and perform a direct install.
