So at the current moment there's no root tutorial for OnePlus 80 T-Mobile variant running Android 12? Is that correct? I am one of the people that got comfortable running stock and taking my mandatory update so I am running Android 12 at the moment.

If your bootloader is unlocked, then just use OrangeFox recovery, and use it to flash Magisk. If you don't want to install OrangeFox then just boot into it "fastboot boot (name of.zip)" then flash the Magisk.zip

I will attempt to pull the boot.img. bottle isn't unlocked yet. I'm doing the recon to get root on A12 if possible. The directions you have stated above is feasible and I'm capable of doing so unfamiliar with these new programs such as orange Fox. Magisk I'm familiar with from a few years back. I'm a old timer getting back into it

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if your bootloader isn't unlocked then you won't be able to root it, sorry.

Is there a process to unlock the bootloader.? I was gonna make that the first line of business.
There's two ways to unlock the bootloader.
1: Get the device SIM unlocked, then get the bootloader unlock token from OnePlus (which takes 7 days)

Or
2: Follow the instructions in this thread and unlock the bootloader instantly after converting the device from T-Mobile to EU

After you convert, you can unlock the bootloader by running the command "fastboot flashing unlock critical" or "fastboot OEM unlock". I forgot exactly which command it is, but it'll be in the instructions in the thread I just shared

Hi All,
Thank you for all the valuable info.
I am a neub to newer android systems but have rooted older androids and the Iphone 1.
I rooted my phone and now want to revert back to stock and lock, basically as if I just bought it.
I received all of OTA and was on oos13 (March 2023) but got boot looped when unlocking it.
I used MSM kebab_15_ 0.12 to get back on oos11
I have Magisk & Shizuku & Yasnac installed and do not know if they need to be removed or treated in any way.

Since I was on oos11 I did a local back up on the phone using oos13 zip file as from what I read it would bring me back to stock but I am still rooted.
Magisk app says I need to restore the app "because the hidden Magisk app cannot work because the root was lost. Please restore the original APK"
Also missed a line in the instruction so I did not save the original boot.img file for a KB2005 Global.

Phone is working but I am still in OEM unlock and it is grayed out.
Sorry for hijacking the thread, but thank you for the help.
Cheers!

Here's the patched boot.img for OnePlus 8T Android 13 KB2005_11_F.13 and F.15

Bootloader must be unlocked

(Have the img on your PC)

Instructions:
1: Reboot to bootloader "adb reboot bootloader"

2: Run CMD "fastboot flash boot" ~name of img~
Profit!

You're now rooted.
I've also attached the stock boot.img just in case anyone wants it.

Will this work for KB2007_11_F.46?

Just MSM it to OOS11 and stick with it.
You can update via OTA to the latest OOS13 if you want.
No extra steps are needed.
Thanks for the response.
I did use MSM with OOS11 but as mentioned the Magisk & Shizuku & Yasnac programs are still installed and it did not root and lock the bootloader.
BobbyLynn said to do the same but "be sure to check/mark "refurbish"" Which I can find.
Thank you Rootk1t.

Hello, got around to rooting the latest F63 version for the EU model so just thought to post the patched boot image for anyone that needs it.
Could I find the BUILD_FINGERPRINT prop value within this file? I don't want to root my phone but I use a custom ROM (LOS 20) and I would like to pass safetynet attestation with the latest firmware.
Thanks in advance
