I've used this 6502 kernel on my 6503 device, it works, but just to be shure

No need to unlock bootloader
just need a flashtool and some files

i am looking for .423 ftf for 6506. anybody have one? I have read that some people say you can use the 6503 ftf but i have also read that this can brick the 6506. any clarification would be awesome. thank you!

General problems people face are
1. Improper installation of adb driver (daemon starting and closing again again while rooting from DooMs Kit)
2. The kernel files are from C6502 ftf people report it working on C6503 as well

Check for any other problem

Root Xperia ZL with Latest .2.67 fw (Yes The Latest 10.3.1.A.2.67)

I Take no credit for this I have done zero development work

This is a just a Guide telling how to implement his method

Requirement

• Latest Flashtool https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8hAoiy5gSGVZU5zOHU4TFdJTkk/preview
  
• latest Ftf file for fw .2.67
  
• Ftf file for fw .423
  
• Latest DoomLord Rooting Kit v18 (no else would work in this case)http://www76.zippyshare.com/v/29480564/file.html
  
• Make sure device is on latest .2.67 fw (If not then wait for the official update)

NOTE: We need complete file only to flash the Kernel.sin & Loader.sin

OR

Use the files provided by me which contain the required files only (easier method)

These kernel files are from C6502 if you have another device they might not work. In that case use the complete FTF files for your device and root using complete ftf method

How (Using complete ftf packages)

• Flash only the kernel.sin & loader.sin from older .423ftf package using FlashTool
  
• Uncheck all wipe options
  
• Check all exclude option EXCEPT Exclude Kernel
  
• Now flash this using flashtool
  
• Reboot the device and make sure USB Debugging & Unknown Sources are allowed in settings
  
• Now root using the latest DoomLord Kit v18 (No other version of kit will work)
  
• Turn Off the Device and put in Flash Mode (Press Volume Down while attaching usb cable)
  
• Now open the latest .2.67 ftf package and repeat the check and uncheck process as earlier
  
• Flash only the Kernel.sin & Loader.sin
  
• Reboot the Device
  
• Done !!
  

OR

How (Using given ftf files) EASIER WAY


These kernel files are from C6502 if you have another device they might not work. In that case use the complete FTF files for your device and root using complete ftf method

• Flash the .423 kernel ftf package using FlashTool
  
• Reboot the device and make sure USB Debugging & Unknown Sources are allowed in settings
  
• Now root using the latest DoomLord Kit v18 (No other version of kit will work)
  
• Turn Off the Device and put in Flash Mode (Press Volume Down while attaching usb cable)
  
• Now open the latest .2.67 kernel ftf package and flash it
  
• Reboot the Device
  
• Done !!

Yes simply flashing the stock ftf will get you a new phone with no root at all
And if you try there's a option in SuperSU settings to Full Unroot under CleanUp try that

It generally remover the su script and SuperSU app from your system

You can flash any rom model C650x, only baseband is specific for each devive. So remember to exclude baseband when flashing different rom. OR flash other rom then reflash your device rom exclude everything EXCEPT baseband.

I don't think the Zip would effect anything so flash away! When in doubt, go to your flashtool and flash baseband ONLY.

Ps: don't forget to uncheck all wipes if using flashtool !

ROM has nothing to do with baseband
ROM is just a simple zip file which replaces everything in your /system folder

You can flash any ROM build for ZL just keep a check on Locked Bootloader BL or Unlocked Bootloader
Every ROM mentions it is compatible with which bootloader state or sometimes both
