You can see my installed version in the screenshot.

To get the latest OTA while you are on the Rooted Stock Rom you have to copy system.md5 File provided earlier from subworx to /system/
After installing all OTA updates you copy Supersu.2.4.zip to your internal or external sdcard.
Now you must activate USB-debugging on your tablet and start the batch file provided from bodivas.
Choose method "T3" and let your tablet boot temporary cwm.
When your tablet booted cwm flash the Supersu.2.4.zip from internal or external sdcard.
After successful flash restart your tablet and you should be fine.

I hope this will help you.

Have you picked the right file for your installed Firmware?
You renamed it to "system.md5" and put it in /system?

I decided to start over fresh. Now everything is fine again. Question is will this temp cwm and root work if we update via another OTA?

At first, I am sorry for my poor english, but be aware, I try my best.

I have started flashing like written in the first post.
After 66% the process stopped, an I got an error message in the Phone flash tool, somthing like this: ERROR : Port 1/2/3: Flash failure.
Now, I have no connection to the tablet via USB anymore, and the tablet starts to reboot several times automativly without success.
I even cannot enter the boot menu with power and volume button :crying:

After a while I get a Lenovo recovery screen with some options: reboot/ install update package/ wipe user data/ poweroff
Any idea how I can get back into the droidboot recovery menu?

Thank you in advance,

Tieja

Hey, whats up. Do you have the latest USB Dirvers installed? Try to press the Volume Up + Powerbutton do start your Tablet. You can get
Now I have insatlled the drivers again on , pressed 20 times the volume and power button...
and, it started again to flash :good:

Now my tablet is back to life, but I got a message "Der Prozess "android.process.acore" wurde beendet". This message pops up again and again, and I cannot enter the home screen.
Now I am back in the droidboot recovery menu, but I cannot select any of tne 10 points. I even cannot switch of the tablet...

Did you unplug your cable, turn off the tablet, and restart your computer? Also make sure there's no other android app installed on your computer that is messing up with adb. I had snappea installed for something else and it made my phoneflashtool go crazy. Holding down power button should turn off your tablet, then you can try the recovery menu again with power and vol down.

Well, in the meantime I have managed to enter the recovery boot menu, and I have flashed the tablet 100%, but I allways get a pop up "The process "andoid.process.acore" has been stopped. in addition, the resolution has changed, I got realy big letters and symbols.
Any Idea how to stopp this pop up?

I had this acore message when a manual upgrade failed, but never saw that resolution issue.
Reflashing system did not help, but wiping data did, in this case.
Maybe deleting several single directories in /data/data would have helped too, but I didn't have the time to look for the correct ones.

Your original post with flash failing at 66% sounds like your downloaded image is broken (or a file was dumped incorrectly - I'd love to see the lines right before "flash failed", mentioning what was flashed last that caused the failure), or possibly that sparsing is not enabled.

If you have nothing worth saving on there anyway, you might try reflashing the whole device again to make sure everything is clean and working.
Important, in Flash Tool open File -> Options, check "Force sparsing" and set the number to 500 MB.

Hope you can make it work again.

I did not have the log file from the first time I tried to flash my 1050L, but I changed in Flash Tool to 500 MB, and that worked.
Now, wenn I enter the droidboot recovery menu, I can see the list of options on the left side, but they are not readable, the lines are a little bit over each other, because of the solution thing?
And there is no enter or back entrie.
When I use the volume button, nothing is highlighted any more, so I cannot enter the droidboot menue again...
Could it be possible, that I have the wrong 8" image on my 1050L?
Just an idea bacause of the solution...
Any further ideas about the problem with the pop up message?

bodivas, I thought I was on the latest firmware before I root, but now there is another one and I installed it but it told me there is no binaries installed and closed supersu. Do I need to re-root?

If you flash OTA over your rooted Rom you have to root it again.

Back in my S3 time this error was related to the contact app and the app "Kontakte-Speicher" (don't know its name in english)
If you delete the cache of this 2 apps after you backuped your contacts it should not appear anymore.

Or you have to backup and then delete following things in /DATA (maybe the folders are different cause this script is from a S3 forum)

delete_recursive("/data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db");
delete_recursive("/data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db-shm");
delete_recursive("/data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db-wal");
delete_recursive("/data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/profile.db");
delete_recursive("/data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/profile.db-shm");
delete_recursive("/data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/profile.db-wal");
delete_recursive("/cache");
delete_recursive("/data/dalvik-cache");

Hi everyone,

I just want to let you know, that I have fixed my problem!
It was the wrong system.img from the 13" :rolleyes:
Now, everything is fine :D, but when I check for an update, I can find the entry: current version: YT2-1050L_USR_S000074_1411051757_WW21_ROW
update:
YT2-1050L_USR_S000074_1411051757_WW21_ROW_TO_YT2-1050L_USR_S000156_1501051822_WW21_ROW

The update failed. Any Idea?

I am not sure if the OTA keeps any kind of log (possibly on internal SD) to show what happened.
My first thought would be to look for /system/system.md5, if it was missing from the rooted 1380F image, it might be missing from the rooted 1050L image as well.
Unfortunately I don't have this device, so someone else with a stock 1050L (or the unpacked system image from Lenovo) must extract it.

Okay, so do I still have to root using the LTE version or do I reflash with the 1050f firmware?
Are ota updates possible now or are they not with root?
Will this root be able to survive into android 5?
