Hi guys, i'm new to Android however have played around with jailbreaking etc before...

i have one question, i'm confident to follow the steps (which while reading them seem pretty easy) but what OS will be on my phone once i'm done and how do i get android 2.2 on once this has been completed?

Errors of X10Flash:

INFO: start
java.io.IOException: Unable to open channel, GetLastError=0
at com.sonyericsson.cs.usbflashnative.impl.USBFlashNativeImpl.openChannel(Native Method)

If you get this error you have added WRONG device ID. Maybe you have not only ONE in registry. Try finding another one!
If all don't work. Please install SEUS one time and this far SEUS wants you to connect XPERIA in flashmode.
After this is done you should find your Device ID! (Because SEUS found it and installed drivers! )



There is another Erro regarded to 32bit and 64bit Systems!
If you got this Error, please uninstall Java -> Reboot
Download Sun JRE 32bit -> install -> Reboot.

Now you should be fine.

I am stuck trying to run this on a 64bit system. i did as you said and removed 64bit and installed 32bit JRE but now it says Java is not a valid command. Can you please help.

UPDATE: I got it sorted now. i created a .bat file to set java path while in CMD. All flashed now and updated to 2.1

After installing "something" from step 2, phone is rebotting, and than I got many of "Error: Could not access the Package Manager. Is the system running?" this errors.

2 Problems can be for this:
1.) Package download wasnt correct or Winrar is too old.

2.) You wans't fast enough The phone stays in flashmode only for a few seconds. You must hit enter fast enough to do it well

i am having the hardest time with this

OK, so i just got my experia x10a yesterday he first thing i did was to see if root was available when i got home. well i have been at this nonstop (except sleeping but not to much)

what i have tried

using swm to side load z4root (fail)
trying this method (fail)
both methods were tried on windows 7 64 bit and vista 32

i have tried various methods of down loading drivers cause both systems drivers that are installed when the device is plugged in didnt help one bit

i think it might be the driver issue cause i cant find the device i.d. in the regedit

pleas help im gonna go gray if i cant figure this out (im only 22)

I tried to root my new X10a i got recently, after the first stage of the rooting process, i removed the battery for 5 sec and tried to start. I get a blank screen after the ntt docomo disappears, I have tried to repeat the stage several times. I have installed my Java correctly even though i suspected i didn't at the first time, and i think the device instance is correct too, is there any way to revive my phone please someone should help.

x10 a rooting

Hey guys, i need help with something. I have been following the guide since the beginning but unfortunately i am still at step 1. I got the error that has been pictured about the anonymous donators. This picture of it or more like a message specifies that if you get an error of "Info: Start... Java... Unable to open channel.. etc" you must have put in the wrong Device ID. The other method says to reinstall seus and all. This is exactly what i did. I have Uninstalled the Sun Java and i installed the SEUS. I rebooted my Pc, then i redownloaded both files and have installed them again. I did everything correctly. Again now when i run the .bat file 1_downgrade_flash, and go to flashmode and all, it still gives me the same error. I do not know what mistake am i making. Just to let you know, will this make any difference if my firmware is 1.6, but my build is R2CA016? I know that the build number is not specified above, i thought maybe this might be a problem. Also i couldn't find any post which was regarding rooting with this build number. All help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

I read somewhere if you re-flash with the userdata.sin file removed all your data will be kept.

Unbrick X10

Does anyone know how to unbrick xperia x10? i was finally able to root the phone. When i was going through the last step of getting it from x10i back to x10a, it just bricked. Now all i see is a phone with an xclamation mark. Thanks in advance

There are several flash versions, standalone, that are for un-bricking. If you cannot get into flash mode, remove battery, press and hold back button, reinsert battery. If you do not have a third hand may take a time or two to get it right!

Look at this thread http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=738745&highlight=R2CA016 Decrypted branded ROM list (For unroot or rebrand purpose) (flashtools method).
You will have to search to find ROM for your particular phone.

Glad to help. If you change your profile to indicate provider and country, you may get more specific help. There are two AT&T files, one with just the sin files and one to unbrick standalone with flash.

my x10 rooting journey

I got my 1 day old x10i and tried to root it, Using this method http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=717949.
After downgrade the firmware my phone wouldn't boot up, it would only shake.

I was worried so i used SEUS to re flash to the original firmware. Even thought SEUS said successful flash but I couldn't boot the phone up. The screen turn on the back lit and flicker. At this states i was .

I then stumped on this thread, and i download root_F3V3 and follow the instruction. I was successful on the first step and I was able to get my phone to work . But I was unable to get the second step to work.

I got up to this

and the phone reboot itself like you turn the phone of and on again.
I never got this pic

If i follow through and execute the next step in the cmd. it was able to write to sd but fail mod, It said read only memory. I re tried 4 time the same thing happen.

In the end I used SEUS to update the firmware and my phone back to square 1.
