seems there is a hidden code for going to RF Test on android 12 , please check it by Samsung dialer and share result and its appreciated to tell CSC,

This code also works for me it gets me to the RF test menu directly for band selection and I can confirm when you remove nr5g bands it drops to 4G LTE and when I add all 5G bands it immediately connects back to 5G so they are doing something so I'm curious if we don't leave that page if it connects to another 5G band like a sea band or something I will test later tonight.

All the snapdragon n20 ultra have the same motherboard. In the bottom image you can see the Note 20 ultra motherboard. All model numbers supported. What differentiates the different models is a solder bridge. I'm the top image you see the U 0 D W. The u is bridged in this instance, making it a Sm-n986u. Further, the motherboard type is detected by the bootloader and sets a board id (6,2,0,-;Machine model: Samsung C2Q CHN PROJECT - SM-N9860_REV07C (board-id,10)), that board id is then detected by the modem bootloader and sets the particular config file to be loaded based on the board id (549_a_0.mbn) in the case of the SM-N9860. This config file then sets the particular bands the phone supports. All n20 U support all the bands, they are just encoded by the board and the software. No amount of tweaking that I know of will get around that. You may be able to open the phone and solder a different bridge, but I'm not sure if there are any files put on the phone during the build, that cannot be overwritten.

I'm curious if there's a test mode for developers, that enable all bands I know for a fact there are test Sims so we just need to figure out a way how to either make these bands stick or somehow get a config file to open up all bands if there's some way we could edit the Sim files The Sim configs or the modem files perhaps would do this?

Like I said I heard the dish firmware unlocks all 5G bands automatically out the box.

I am using the stock dialer

I do have a Verizon sim which blocks everything even the star pound 0011 pound code,
After using this method I now have codes back but I cannot access the b a n d menu.
But I can get to it through the menu above but when I try to select performance mode or whatever they call it it says to use the star pound band method but it doesn't work for me cuz it still doesn't work but I can still set everything set up in the guide but I do not have CSC access either...

If anyone wants to try it make sure you have all your drivers installed correctly like you normally would you can probably get all that information up above.

Download this tool I don't know if the link works on this website but this is their official website if they try to make you pay for it just Google it and you'll find it for free but I think it's for free downloadable at this website above.

Now keep in mind I did this with a Verizon sim on a Verizon CSC on a 988u model running the latest Verizon u1 firmware


So I'm not sure if this will work with other cscs or other firmwares but I don't see why not this is why I'm telling everybody so they can hopefully try and it works for them.

After downloading the Sam FW FRP 3.1, on your phone make sure USB debugging is turned on, and make sure on the menu *#0808# it's set to dm+modem+adb.
Then connect your phone, you can either hit info tab right under the word tool at the top to see if it pulls information from your phone if not you have a driver issue but if all is well and information pulls from the phone, continue to the "MTP" menu, there should be an option called "enable secret code for Verizon beta"

Click that and let it do its thing if it comes up with any prompts make sure you follow them and once it finished reboot your phone and try the codes or you can try the codes without rebooting this is the code that works for me.

The menu comes up is the same as above protocol State UE setting etc debug screen RF test hardware test and two more.

Everything seems to work and stick I am still actively trying to have all the band stick but I can confirm when you make changes immediately in the app the band settings you set do take effect but eventually once you leave the app they seem to not stick.

I don't know if this is a rooting issue or a firmware issue but I can confirm I have successfully locked to different LTE bands and I have actively tried to turn on c-band without much luck here because of where I'm located.

But later tonight I'm going downtown where they have sea band and more wideband access and I will be testing this menu I have been trying to get to for the longest time and after I tried the Verizon secret code beta in the app the first code I tried

If that menu works for you immediately after going through the app on your computer with the enable secret code then you're golden and everything should work.

I have successfully removed 5G prune and other settings.

And have noticed that those settings do stick.

Another thing, if anyone needs screenshots I guess I could take some or make a little video of how to do this but it's very simple.

I just got lucky I was originally trying to change my CSC and the app above also works for changing your CSC and I also use Sam key and bought a couple credits to use to change CSC but it was just a waste of money because this app does the same thing for free but let me tell you, when you change CSC through these apps as soon as you're done your phone wants to reboot and it wants to load the settings of your sim card, so basically it makes everything you did worthless because you're right back to a carrier CSC.
Does anyone know any more codes to try to access more menus because it seems like certain codes are working and certain codes aren't.

Be very careful with those menus there's a couple times where I went through certain things and I lost connectivity and I had to go back and change certain settings to get connectivity back you can really mess things up.

The CSC menu is really what I need to get access to, I really need to access the menu so I can turn on that option at the bottom where it doesn't reset your phone every time you enter a Sim because I think on a xaa CSC all 5G bands will be enabled, if you enable them is this true or do they not stick? Also somebody earlier posted some screenshots of the band selection menu that you can get to and they had theirs full of 5G bands where they could toggle them on and off I have tried to reach this person and find out how they had all them 5G bands available in that selection app and he hasn't responded yet I'm really curious about this as well I have heard that the dish firmware has all 5G bands unlocked.

Maybe it is because this phone only supports n41 5G anchored on LTE band 41.
My network uses LTE band 3 for the anchor band for n41 5G (Smart Philippines)
Or because I can't activate the DSS on my device?

Awesome stuff man so you're not on Verizon you're on some other carrier and it worked for you? Also are you sure you're not connecting? The thing with Samsung phones what I noticed is that you see it says disconnected there a lot of times you have to have a data connection in order to be connected.

What I'm saying is basically make sure you're outside or have a good line of a signal don't be in the basement while doing this and open up YouTube or some other data intensive app and then go ahead, and turnip the settings to the highest resolution for the video so it really sucks a lot of data you don't have to do this if you have a data plan and you're worried but you can turn it up a little bit but what I'm saying is there has to be an active data connection for 5G to connect otherwise it usually drops down when the connection isn't there.

Also another good way to check you can hit in netmonster , the left hand corner the little three lines there to open up more settings and then click on log instead of live and that will give you a list of logs and it'll tell you if you actually connected to 5G at all or if you're just stuck on 4G tell me what that page looks like.

Also I do have access to NSS controls in my phone

Yes your method should be made before accessing the *#73# otherwise it will show a blank menu.

I think the DSS should be enabled so I can connect to 5G because I think it is required on 5G NSA since the function of DSS based from google is "enables the parallel use of LTE and 5G in the same frequency band". NSA 5G uses LTE to work. And I cannot locked the band without enabling LTE bands since it is required on NSA 5G.

What band are you tryng to unlock?

The phone is really the problem since I already tested the 5G signal using my sim on both android and iphone with 5G capability.

I am getting 261 mm wave here in the area but the thing I don't like about the Samsung phones is that they don't stick on the 5G signal like OnePlus phones and other phones do like it constantly drops down the LTE and then when you use the data then it jumps back up to 5G I just wish it would stick on 5G all the time and I've been messing with other settings but I can't seem to find out how but I'm really really trying to figure out how to get these 5G bands enabled and that person who posted way earlier in the thread had every one of them available for selection I'm trying to figure out how that's possible and how I can get that way.

At least band 77 or 78 for sea band you know what I mean.

Doesn't seem to do anything if I do that afterwards and then I go to band selection and enable all bands they don't stick and they don't show up in that top list where you can enable and disable them.
Any other options or info you may have? I still really need to find out about that person earlier in the thread who had all the bands available.

Perhaps there's a way of doing it that makes them stick like enable the bands and then remove the white list or remove the whitelist enable the bands and then go to band selection I'm not sure but they're not sticking and I can go in the list and I can enable everything but disable the main ones that are that always stick and it will not connect to any 5g. And it'll just refresh the list after I go back to it showing that it's not connected to any 5G there's no 5gs left in the list when I remove all the standard ones that show up I'm kind of stuck.

I will try different ways of doing it perhaps you need to reboot after doing the NR whitelisting removal?

What about the other option in that menu should that be turned off perhaps it doesn't seem to have anything to do with NR though..

Lucky for you because you are on US and 5G there are 5G SA that doesn't need LTE signal.

If you are on U firmware DSS settings is accessible but not on U1 (Note 20 Ultra 5G)

I believe I may have either wiped out (deleted) or disabled the mmWave bands on my Note 20 Ultra because NR 260 and NR 261 are no longer on the NR5G Band Preference list.

How do I get them back?

That's how you get them back I wiped mine out too and was screwed did everything but you add that file back and it'll work.

Fyi DO NOT under ANY circumstances hit the option Remove_mmawave_Card.

When you are on that screen of options be extremely careful because if you click that and I accidentally did yesterday night you will lose mm wave almost forever.

If it wasn't for the Post above where somebody actually got an engineer to help them and find the right file to re-add we would be screwed so make sure you are extremely careful messing around in there.

I did everything to rebuild the NV I went ahead and flash new firmware and everything and it could not bring back the mm wave card and that's because it's a separate modem add-on.

When you click remove mm wave card it actually deletes the file from the NV database in your phone and no matter what you do you cannot get it back. Well that was until whoever was kind enough to figure out how to fix it above but just be extremely careful because this phone almost made it in the trash yesterday night because of that issue and it was through a lot of Google searching that I found a remedy to the fix I actually talked to the author as well but he no longer has the z fold 2 , where the file came from and that's because it shares the same modem as we do the phone is based off of the same phone as the note 20 and the s20 ultra and so on so everything's the same so that's why it worked.

On the first release of note 20 ultra 5G esim is disabled try to flash oldest firmware with the same bootloader of your firmware now. The phone should have no esim after flashing.

And then flash the latest firmware available. It will reset all the settings of the modem too since they will make the esim available. That's it!

I discovered it when I messed up editing efs files and my phone shows no signal. Reviving using the backup files is no longer possible because the phone keeps disconnecting when connected to QPST tool. So this is the only fix that works. Hope it helps someone.

Yes because our firmware are made for US telcos adding a band is a hardware thing.

I'm incorrect about the SA 5G since you posted a photo with SA band so I expected that you won't have a problem with the anchor LTE band.
But you are really still lucky because you're in the US and you're using the model that is made for that specific country so you have higher possibility to get what you need on that device except for the hardware part.

I gave up activating my 5G. I'm tired of setting up my apps after firmware flash lol.
The speed of LTE+ on my town is pretty good though for my personal use so I'll just wait if someone tries to mess with the Nv files to make the 5G works.

BTW if you are still on U firmware try the CSC change on the samfw tool it works without flashing if you want to test the DSH.
If you're on U1 I think there's no modem modifications after csc change using the tool but still try it.
