hi can anyone help to test if the following codes work for your Mate 20X? The first code works for me but not the second one. Wondering if it's because of some of the packages removed. Thanks :).
*#*#2846579#*#* - For Background Settings, Veneer information, Network Information Query, Software Upgrade, Restore Factory and Battery Charge information
*#*#6130#*#* - For Phone information, Usage statitics and Wireless Information
Running stock L29, 1st code worked, 2nd one didn't.

Nova is worlds ahead of the Huawei Launcher. Why anyone would want to use the stock Launcher is beyond me. If you're rooted that's easy, if you're not you'll need to find the APK or pull it from the stock ROM but I'm not sure if you can install it like a regular APK.

I like the stock launcher. Does what I need. Has a few bugs. But they all do to some extent. And like the Themes also.

One added bonus removing the stock launcher for me (L29) is I hated the recent apps view, there was no way to lock an app in memory and it was slow. I had been using Nova without entirely removing the stock launcher and it continued showing the stock launcher recents. After removing the stock launcher and rebooting, I have the old vertical android recents list along with the lock in memory function.

And unless I'm crazy, my battery life has seemed to improve markedly as well removing the stock launcher.

Here is an Excel spreadsheet that I made with all packages from the EVR-L29 and how to remove them without root. Each package name is listed along with the description of each package (if applicable) and whether or not each package is safe to remove. Use your own common sense on removal of some of these. Obviously if you want the stock dialer and contacts then don't remove the Android Dialer & Contacts packages. You need ADB & Fastboot extracted to a folder on your PC and you have to open up a command prompt in that folder. After removing the packages you want, you can get them back by reinstalling the original or updated apk for that app or by factory resetting your phone.

Spreadsheet:

ADB & Fastboot:
I'm still working on my aloo. Using app inspector I see three packages associated with huawei share:
1. com.huawei.android.instantshare
2. com.huawei.pcassistant
3. com.huawei.android.internal.app

I see from your spreadsheets that you suggest it is not safe to remove number 3. Would appreciate any further thoughts/comments about its removal.

There are a few huawei apps that I will be keeping but think I recall reading somewhere that this would mean I must also keep the huawei app store on the phone else the apps I keep would not receive future updates. That sounds a bit odd to me but as a newbie to android I need advice from someone much more experienced - like you ?.

I wasn't sure about internal.app package so I marked it as not safe. If you want to be able to login to download themes, Huawei App updates etc you'll have to keep hwid and appgallery installed.

Personally I don't use any of the Huawei Apps so I removed almost all of them except Themes.

I used this on my P20 Pro running Pie, after resetting - and it worked a treat. Thanks a lot, my phone is flying now.

I had done this a few times already on Oreo but ended up breaking loads first time I tried - This list is great

Hi

I have uninstslled the huawei search which was really annoying. Would it brake my phone if I removed the huawei app store and huawei mobile services???

I use play store which suits me fine and I don't use huawei built in apps tbh just would like advice as well as the codes as I can't seem to see them on the list

Cheers
