Thank you everyone for taking out time to contribute to this great forum.

My issue is that I followed this procedure and applied it on my Sprint HTC One and I was only able to unlock the GSM features of the phone, that is, I only have GSM/2G data connection, no 3G. I am using the phone outside the US and my carrier here works with 900/1800 for 2G and 900/2100 bands for 3G.

Is there any other way I can get 3G working on this device on my carrier? Or is there a specific ROM that will enable me do this? Although I prefer stock HTC Sense. My device is S-On and Hboot 1.55

Many thanks.

I downgraded everything to what is listed in the OP, I installed the 4.1.2 ROM (listed there), which did not allow the revealing of the sim lock menu but I installed Viper 1.0.0 and then was able to see the menu.
But even after selecting the "sim lock" item, then reboot I still don't have an unlocked sim. I still have the "SIMLock enabled".
I have an active T-Mobile sim installed.
Any ideas?

UPDATE:

I was able to reach the hidden screen and select the "sim lock" but backing out and rebooting from the sim unlock helper screen did not work.
I had to select "reboot" from the same menu located just a couple of items up from the Sim lock selection. Make sure "Data" is on and GSM is selected.
I was successful only on the "Viper 1.0.0 rom. Update; ViperOne 7.02 working great
I now have a working T-mobile connection...

Hey, I read all the topic and finally went through all the steps. I'm running Kitkat, copied OMADM app, got into that screen and selected "sim lock". My phone connects to network, internet is working through network, but GSM connection says "only emergency calls" allowed. I cannot dial to anyone.
Unfortunately the phone is S-ON with HBOOT 1.61. I tried different radios, but didn't help. It's m7_ul with CID T-MOB101.

What should I do? :/

I paid $25 for Sunshine and did S-Off. Then changed to super CID and flashed RUU Zip M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed. It has HBoot 1.44 now.
After that I followed unlocking procedure (copying OMADM app and selecting "sim lock" from that menu) but unfortunately it still doesn't connect to GSM network. I tried all the combinations of connection type (WCDMA preffered, GSM only, LTE and all others) with no success.

Got really no more ideas what should I do. Can someone help?

Did you go back one level after you selected GSM and select your carrier (it's near the bottom of the list)...

I got a way to keep it on T-Mobile without the drops an Wi-Fi calling. I've been fiddling around an came with a solution. Right now I have the sprint HTC one with sense 7 insert coin 7.0.8 been on this rom for awhile with hboot 1.60 cid 11111111, but you really don't need to super cid. But I'm also using an old radio 129.xxxxxxx. also u have to flash
TMOUS_WiFi_Calling_MMS_ARHD91.1.zip file from the T-Mobile HTC site search for that I'll find the link if you cannot find it. But I get Wi-Fi calling. The only thing I've notice is that flashing this changes the build name of the rom so the insert coin market is nolonger accessible. It's really not a good market to me but to each they own.. other than that I use xposed framework. But it's my daily driver an also boken camera works perfect. The only thing is that you cannot change the kernel get. Ive tried different ones but I don't get sound when I make calls. I'm still doing testing. But with that Wi-Fi calling zip file it might work. I haven't tried jt with anyother kernel but I will later today just to experiment. Let me know if this method works for T-Mobile users that had the sprint HTC one m7.

OK guys I realized that it still doesn't automatically connect with just the T-Mobile add on for Wi-Fi calling. Sorry I forgot to mention I did flash another zip that is actually the missing link. I just tried it with out this zip and just the T-Mobile Wi-Fi calling zip and it did not automatically reconnect to T-Mobile so flash this also http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2394689 it's on the page. I'm not sure about any other rom but this insert coin 7.0.8 rom sense 7 port from the m9 is perfect. Trust me it's worth downloading this rom and using it if your using T-Mobile.. I'm using it right now with this theme also https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952595786.. I have the sickest HTC one with T-Mobile an Wi-Fi calling ever.. and I'm grand fathered in with the classic plan so it's really great! Hope this helps you guys. I've been using this for a while just kept updating the versions of the rom .. remember the kernel that comes with this rom is the only one I can use that I can hear voice out of with the radio that begins with 129x.. because it automatically shows T-Mobile or att to select for network. The others u cannot select the network. But Wi-Fi calling works perfect and when it is on it disconnects the radio then once off Wi-Fi it reconnects that's how you know it's working well. Try it an thank me later..

Do you have the APK file for the app?

the link it dead

so the on in Q&A is getting full of nothing so time to start one with the guide

I don't take any credit just posting,,,All credit goes to hotaru2k3 (http://xdaforums.com/member.php?u=4572661) and Rimidal (http://xdaforums.com/member.php?u=1468774) for writing step by step and video

first off you need to be on stock sprint rom or base for this to work. also it will work on bad esn phones

1. You should be rooted
2. Download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm
3. Run Terminal Emulator
4. Type "su" (excluding quotation marks) and grant it superuser permission
5. Type "am start com.redbend.vdmc/com.htc.omadm.test.TestMainActivity" (excluding quotation marks)
6. You will get menu on your HTC
7. In that menu, select "API", then scroll down 'till almost end and select "simlock"
8. Reboot the phone and hopefully it would accept GSM SIM
9. Enter *#*#4636#*#* in your dialer
10.In the phone information section(the first one) set preferred network type to something that is GSM specific: "WCDMA Preferred", for example. The phone will switch to GSM mode

here's a video also if you get stuck

ok so Recognized Developer -viperboy-(http://xdaforums.com/member.php?u=518868) made a app to help make it easier if some people

like before all credit goes to him, he just asked me to post in op

here's is the google play link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viper.simunlockhelperfree

here's a link to his thread, if you have any questions it's best to post there about the app

Hey guys, I wrote an app that will help you guys with this process. It's very simple, it has the instructions in the app and keeps you from having to use terminal emulator. It will check for root access and make sure you have the right device as well :) let me know how it works for you! OP, feel free to add this to the first post.

    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=45243199

The link above is where you should post for issues/suggestions for the app ONLY, not to talk about SIM unlocking in general, as there are already two threads for that.

Yea, I tried all of the GSM and WCDMA ones, I tried changing the APNs, tried flashing a bunch of different roms, I actually ended up screwing my phone up (I couldnt get any bars with sprint, 4g worked, not even an RUU fixed it, but I found a way to fix it)

What i did to get the at&t sim to work on my HTC is go to settings take out your sim, turn off mobile data, then put your sim in. After that quickly open up The mobile network settings go down to available gsm networks and do that search networks option and choose at&t. you have to do it before your phone can fully read the at&t sim card because once it reads it, it wont let you select, search networks. I had that same problem where T-mobile would work but at&t wouldn't so i got desperate and tried that and it works fine. I get 4g lte speeds and all of that. Though whenever I am in a building and lose my service I usually have to do that process all over again.

Can anyone confirmthat his unlocked HTC One works with AT&T when not using the latest radio?

If I put a tmobile SIM card, I'm not able to search for a network, it's grayed out
