I would offer to use anything non-SDHC. That means - less or equal to 2 Gb. I have several different old thumb drives and SD cards. No one of them gives any error while gold-card flashing.
If you opt to go the microSD route; most definitely; I had a flimsy microSD card adapter and I had the same issues many here have had and I made the switch to the PNY 4gig thumb drive which I bought at Wal-Mart; the red/blue two pack and deliberately bought the smaller thumb drives. But I did successfully HSPL my device and like many when I gave up the 2nd flash for dead and was writing the obit when I came to life and flashed the SPL205 ROM; the second to last; the next being the HSPL itself.

Will any of the methods in this forum work on a titan with spl 2.6?
Gold card method; I had the exact same SPL2.6 on mine I updated from HTC. I do recommend you get drunk before you attempt this though.

I'm actually contemplating to try again to debrand and flash HSPL on my At&T Titan despite I have almost bricked it. My Titan has cameback to life again and i have done again the procedure to Debrand/HSPL my device, but still, the same errors have appeared, specially when flashing EU NBH via Goldcard

UPDATE TERMINATE
UPDATE FAIL ERROR CODE:33 INTERNAL

That error appears when the device starts to flash the Goldcard with EU NBH - RADIO FAILED AND OS FAILED

But still, my device, still works ok with these errors, like nothing happened

Any thoughts?
Any idea brothers?

Do us a favor and edit your signature or tell us exactly what kind of device you have...for example is it an x310e or an x310a, the brand/carrier. What is your current SPL. I have no idea what to tell you until I know what your device is; thanks!

Ooopss apologies for my signature

I got at HTC Titan (At&t) PI39100 with SPL 2.6 and 16.23 Radio :)

Anyone do this as a serivce?

Just wondering if anyone offers the HSPL and debranding as a service for the Titan... I have an unlocked, like new Titan that I would use as a daily driver if I could just run the Nokia stuff on it - Here Drive+, Music and maybe some of the lenses... I would ultimately love to have full WP8 capabilities (understanding the HW issues) but even the 7.8 with Nokia branding would be pretty awesome! I would love to be able to flash ROM's like I did with my EVO and maybe even get Android to boot on it some day...

Anyone do this for a fee?

Nope! I can't speak for others, but I'm not crazy enough to do it; it's a crap shoot and couple of Hail Marys and good luck! It took me four days to pull off a HSPL on my device...that's after taking all of one hour to do my wife's...four days!

And now you can see why even though I have some experience with this, I don't want to attempt making a cable, tracking down something to make a gold card, then try whizzing into a mountain dew bottle at 90mph through a winding bumpy road...

Coming from experience and reading others experience's...Even if you try and get the fabled 2.5 SPL stick, you will most likely not brick your device. I have a stuck 2.5 spl on one of my Titan's and I still have functionality with it, along with the latest OS updates eg 7.8. However, there is always that possibility of something going massively wrong. I myself thought I bricked my Titan after the stuck 2.5. -Got the infinite boot loop...etc. However, I was able to overcome the issue and get back a working OS by flashing HTC's own 2.6 spl from their website.

IMO-If you are not planning on having the Titan for very long ... I would go at it.

This fear about bricking your phone is way over-rated; I mean if all else fails you're stuck at the infamous SPL2.5 and like more than a few Titans running around it is the internal memory that is giving you headaches by not behaving correctly. I will say this for certain, with this device its a whole lot easier to de-HSPL your device than any I've done in the past. No one here is going to put their stamp on your device and say you won't brick your phone; why, there is always some dumb back end of a donkey that proves us wrong.

Hi all.
I need your help...
I just got my HTC Titan (at&t) and I need to debrand it since I leave at Greece...
I created my Y-cable and now I have to download the required files.
I looked here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1597837 as I should
for the goldcard but there is no link for the titan... only for other 2nd generation wp7 devices...
Please, can someone direct me to the right links cause right now, my titan is useless...

Your looking in the wrong posts. You should follow the instructions as described in the first post of this thread and you need to first of all flash the European rom to get rid the at&t branding and be able to do the following flash steps as described. These have to be done by Gold Card Flashing. Once done you can flash the custom rom of your choice the normal way. Be careful because you can brick your phone and by the way the phone has to be sim unlocked. Give us a bit more information. What Titan model do you have? If it's a Titan II then you are out of luck. If it's the Titan I then you can flash. Go into boot loader mode let us know what it says and we'll find a way to help you.

OK, first you have to wait for the unlock code in order to carrier unlock. In your case at&t is the carrier. Once unlocked to can start to debrand and for that you have to flash Europe rom onto your phone. So let me know when you unlocked the phone with the code they are sending you.

That is strange. When you say reboot do you mean turn off and back on the phone or do you mean reset the phone to factory default in settings pressing "reset your phone"? In last case that is normal but I don't know why.
