Since Asus pulled the files off the web site, here they are. Use these files at your own risk. I'm not responsible for bricked devices, nuclear wars or spilled milk.

Since the .29/.26 firmware is available on the ASUS site, http://www.asus.com/Tablet/Transformer_Pad/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_TF300T/#download, I see no need to host those. The .17 is whats needed for root but only if you do NOT want to unlock your device.

US Files:
.17 https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1ReSMcHudEDODl3SlZaVldoVms

DE Files:
.17 https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1ReSMcHudEDcVpCbGVCM0dDREk
WW users can use this to downgrade, root, but root isn't sticking for most people when they take the OTA to .26 and .29. Thanks to mr.niceguy76 for finding this file.

DE Convert to WW File:
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1ReSMcHudEDRzJZd2ctN3hWVFU
DE only-Use this first then use WW file.

Please note that if you manually update to .26/.29 you will lose root.

US and WW,
To downgrade from .26/.29 to .17 use method 2 in the guide found here. Make sure to thank wolf849.

For users that choose to unlock and install a custom recovery, the above information is obsolete. You now have the ability to flash the blob from ASUS (the second zip file in the download) "not the actual blob itself" in recovery and then flash the root package. This is much more convenient but voids your warranty.

Hi BierLiebHaber,
Did you used US blob for downgrade and root?
I thought from a test, that with a US blob there is no OTA working?
Using the DE .17 blob, gives me headaches because OTA wipes my VooDoo RootKeeper backup :-(
Sofar I found no way to root.
Cheers

Has anyone from outside of the US managed to root their device and apply the OTA update?

well, I did ota to. 26 when I got the tablet.

then I downgraded to. 17 with us blob.

I got my root and didn't do a update to. 26

but am on .26 without ota nor manually update and have no idea how I got on. .26

I still had all my apps installed and setting after downgrade.

I also used the tweaks and oc and now I have sometimes flickering over my screen, even if oc is off.

didn't had it before I rooted thou.

my tablet is us now but I want it ww again.

if I read on Asus support site it isn't possible to downgrade to. .17 ww if your on. .27 us or am I wrong?

If you can find the .17WW file you should be able to downgrade.

There are specific firmwares for specific regions, for example US for North America, UK for the United Kingdom, etc.

Hi,
I have not heard from any DE user till now, to keep Root after OTA back to .26.

That mean that:
* downgrade with DE .17 worked (Wolf method 2)
* root SparkyRoot worked, protect root with Voodoo RootKeeper too
* OTA back to WW.26 (maybe that switch is special DE users?) after "Check update"

But in the end, no su-backup availble to restore Root with RootKeeper.

I'm interested if there are any "out of US" success stories, too!

cheers

I'm uploading WW .26 and TW .26 files. I will post as soon as they are done. According to Asus, DE will use the the WW file. There is a convert file on the Asus website. I still don't have WW/TW .17 files.

Can anyone besides costcutter confirm that WW can downgrade with DE.17 and keep root after OTA to WW.26/.29? I don't want to leave that info in the OP if its not really working.

IDK if Asus has changed anything. When I OTA from .17 to .26/.29 it didn't even lose my modified boot animation and I kept root. Neither update removed anything.

Some other people tried it here on the forum and on other fora, but up till now only he succeeded, so I'm not sure whether something changed, or if costcutter just did not succeed.

I have Swedish Tf300 with .29 FW, which blob file should I use?

Do I really need to downgrade to root my device and install CWM, the information is all over the place, and I can't tell which one is most updated?
There is not THAT much information about it, as the only methods working are through firmware .17. If you have WW, you're screwed at this moment. The only way to obtain root is flash .17 US and you will not maintain root when updating.

Someone with .17 and root could try Odin Maker. I know Odin is a samsung tool but I was able to make a recovery fastboot image with it. It hasnt worked since though keeps saying my sd card isnt available or mounted. Its worth a shot for someone to try.
