Will there be any plans on including how to flash TWRP as a replacement for CWM in this guide?

I've waited a long time since I got my tab to unlock/root/flash a ROM on it, just want to be sure I've got all the steps/info correct.

Edit: Would Titanium Backup be the best app to backup everything before I start this process?

same thing for me

4 month without root and now cwm won't backup my stock rom
maybe the best way it s fastboot to replace our recovery

That Boot Loader Unlocker from the Asus page seem not to work anymore. I was trying with 4.1.1 (JRO03C.WW_epad_10.4.2.18) but it keeps telling me "unknow network error - try again later" ...

You can always download stock rom from Asus website.

Have you register your tablet at Asus website?

I registred a New account but was not able to get the device registration done because asus keep telling me the serial number was incorrect. So i sent a support mail and an hour ago i recieved the answer "asus has registred the device for you. Were sorry blabla"

Im not sure, eventually i still have to put the device sn into the asus account?

**EDIT : Device is registred at vip.asus.com and device Unlocker V7 (2012.05.22) does show up in tools menue but unlock still fails with same error :(

Asus did not reply in any way to my question about the not working device unlock tool...

Well I'm using cm10.1 and did not backup my stock, if I want to go back, since 10.1is android 4.2,i just go to Asus site and download the stock rom... But if you want to do this, I can tell you the specific steps on how to, if you want..

Oh congratulations haha, well if you're going to cm10.1 or any android 4.2 rom, make sure you use twrp2.3.3.0!

Is there any other way to unlock / root the TF300 ?
There's only one way to unlock, using the unlock apk. As far as rooting, there are different methods. You can use this guide, or even flash a ROM that already has root I believe (can someone confirm this with an example?).

hi,
if someone could help please.
i followed guides to install twrp on my tf300 OTA official JB update but when typing fastboot command line, i'm stuck on the 4 icons screen and the windows command stuck on "waiting for device".
Is there anything to install ?
the device is seen and can be sync with the asus sync.

Thanks

hold the volume down and power buttons again until your tablet restarts and you see your hidden menu again. Once again, tap volume down until the USB icon is selected, then press volume up again to select it.

go to usb with Vol Down and select with Vol UP

I thought any custom rom, installation of cwm or even root requires a unlocked bootloader?

If i just could set up the custom rom of my choice incl. Root everything would be fine...
