Absoluetly agree about EZ Package Disabler. I prefer its layout and features. However I think some of the processes need to be reset before they are disabled. The only way I can reset them is to clear their data. EZ Package Disabler does not let you clear data from within the app. So I am using both EZ Package Disabler and Package Disabler lol
Are you using the newest version of EZ Package Disabler? The newest version also has feature that allows you to clear data within the app.

In about a 5 or 6 hour span, I lost about 2 percent while I slept. There is a 40 minute kept awake time. There is maybe an app that's not letting it completely doze? What thinkest thou?

VZ S7 EDGE ONYX
To be honest 2% over a 6 hour span is what I would expect with doze working while still allowing apps to check for updates. From the way that your battery graph looks doze is definitely working. The 40 minutes that it was kept awake over the 6 hour period is probably any push services you have installed, like gmail or facebook or simliar apps. It could also be google location services if you have not turned that option off.

I was on the newest version but did not see that there is a "more" button that shows the extra options for clearing data from the app. That now officially makes EZ Package Disabler my go to bloat removal app. Thanks for pointing that out!

I might update the guide to show the process using EZ Package Disabler, for those people who want to use it instead.

Ok so I factory reset my phone and noticed package disabler pro (Samsung) had a price next to it. Weird as I purchased it last fall (for my Note 5). I found another that's rated better and I thought if I have to pay (again) why not try something else? I bought EZ Package Disabler from the Play Store, installed it and manually disabled everything I don't want. Did not worry about clearing cache for each app as well. Kind of in a hurry to get my phone back LOL.

Restored all my apps from Play Store and took my phone off the wireless charger.

Got to my office this AM and noticed a first, battery at 100%.

Currently now off the charger for over 5 hours and 50 minutes, 25min of screen time and battery now is 93%. That's a first for this device LOL.
Can see in the battery discharge graph the nearly flat lines when the device is sleeping/dozing as it should be!

It may be fixed, finally!
Yes, I'm at the same situation. Currently i'm using EZ Package Disabler. It's much faster, friendly UI and has a lot of descriptions. Easier to make a decision which packages should be disabled.

I have updated the guide to reflect using EZ Package Disabler to disable bloat apps. I have also included the EZ Package Disabler xml document for easy import.

Thanks for the feedback!

I use Quickpic instead of gallery so I disabled it completely. Didn't like how it always ran in the background lol

So I went and paid for EZ Package Disabler Pro to give it a shot and I absolutely agree that it has a much better system in place to understand applications and processes. Also the feature that lets you see everything that is currently running is AWESOME! Good find.

Mine stays around 20% consistently or below with my usual daily usage.

Yea overall I am definitely noticing much better background drain overall. Think if the s7 edge was a nexus phone running complete stock firmware..... it would have been the best phone ever made lol
Downloaded quickpic, I think I might like it better than the Stock gallery. I like how it gives you an option to edit your pics on other editing apps.

Look how to edit slow motion videos, since until now I always used default gallery for that.

Gonna maybe buy Ez and ask a refund for the Package Disabler. But since your tweaks, I've gotten awesome battery life!

So I applied your logic to my already extensive list of app disabling and have noticed that I am getting even better battery life now as a result of clearing the app data prior to disabling - it definitely makes a difference!

For reference, I started a thread at Android Central that shows all of the apps I have disabled, following a similar logic to disabling as the OP. I've since gone back through, re-enabled each app, cleared data, and then re-disabled, and I have since noticed an uptick in battery life - I am generally getting 5 hrs SOT in a standard day, now I am pushing 6 hrs with this minor tweak.

Here's my thread - I've actually disabled more than the OP:

I'm going to make reference to your thread OP over on AC - get it more traction!

Very glad that you are getting results similar to mine! I decided to keep both package disabler apps just in case...... I like experimenting with with both apps [emoji16]

That's awesome! Thanks for confirming the clear data aspect. I have really noticed a difference from clearing the data prior to disabling the apps versus just disabling apps. Spread the word as much as you can so that other users can get on the battery saving bandwagon!
This has been mostly, if not ALWAYS on 4g LTEView attachment 3734656

Same here. I am always on 4g, never on wifi.

Thanks, man for sharing. Had this been my initial battery life, I'd have been somewhat content.

Great guide. Does any one know off hand which package controls the always on display? Mine doesn't work now and I was thinking I would ask before going through it one by one to enable it again. Thanks.

Maybe AODservice, its after ANT

VZ S7 EDGE ONYX
Yes the app is AODservice. I disable it (as stated in the OP) because I don't use always on display. Make sure to review the apps I disabled to verify you won't lose any functions that you want to keep. Let me know if you have any other questions!

I disabled some packages with EZ (after I already had bought Package Disabled Pro, I threw away those money), but I don't see a huge difference.
About clear data before disable the package, is it the same thing if I disable the packages and then I clear data using EZ?
P. S. Why I see this instead of a clear image?

No, you need to enable all the bloat apps and then restart your phone. Then go in to each app, clear data, then disable. Then restart.

Not sure why the picture looks blurry on your end. Maybe try downloading the picture or opening up the forum on a web browser instead of Tapatalk.

I enabled the app, clear data and disable it again. Then I restarted, I think that is enough. Will see. About the image do you see it properly?
