Anyone wanna trade for my AT&T Note 3? I want to get one really bad after knowing this.
You could try swappa. The best way would be to meet the person at a T-mobile store if you can.

I don't think anyone realized the full consequences of buying an AT&T Note 3 with a locked bootloader until root was taken away with the Kitkat update and not having an exploit for this long. It really is sad. I hope people remember this with their future phone purchases and carrier choices.

It's a good thing that this thread existed here in the ATT forum because I was going to go for am ATT Note 3 because tmobile signal is crap in my area. After learning about the locked ATT bootloader I have decided to get a Tmobile note 3. I don't mind paying tmobile for 1 month of crap signal as long as bootloader is unlocked.

The dumb thing is that it seems like Samsung phones are the ones affected. The HTC One M8 is still very unlockable.

Did you recently port your number? What phone are you coming from?

Can you also try using a different MMS app other than hangouts?

So both sending and receiving MMS does not work or just one of them?
Have not ported my number, been on AT&T for like 5 years. Galaxy S4
I'm gonna try a different mms app.
Both sending and receiving don't work.

I'm on AT&T LTE and live in an area where LTE is great in some parts of the house and not-so-good in other parts.
And I've noticed that all of the International or AOSP ROM's that I've tried on my TMO N3 have made my 4G connection even flakier in my house.
But after flashing a custom TouchWiz ROM that I found in the AT&T Note 3 Development Forum, I could swear that my connection is just a bit stronger and more responsive?

And yes, I always use the AT&T APN settings found in this thread, with all of the ROM's I've used (except the ATT ROM).
This is the ATT ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2709701

Am I just crazy or is this somehow true?

I even backed up the APN from this AT&T ROM and restored it to an International ROM and boom, my 4G went back to kinda flakey.

Modems don't typically get flashed with custom ROM's or kernels, they only get flashed when you flash them individually or you ODIN back to stock.
So other than APN, what is it in a ROM flash that could affect data signal/handling?

The Tmobile TW based kernel you have to run with any tmo/ATT rom could have something to do with it. Also, with the Kitkat update, any tmobile kernel/rom will show more bars even though the signal is the same. They tweaked the signal formula. This brought it more in line with ATT note 3 roms which have stayed the same. The only other thing besides the modem (N900A modems aren't compatible with the N900T) is the ATT CSC file. That may have some settings in it that may do something.

In the rom you link to which uses safestrap each rom has it's own CSC file but it uses the same KK Tmobile kernel and modem between the roms.

I use the same LeanKernel with any TW based ROM I install on this phone. Whether it was the underperforming (data download wise) Omega ROM or the AT&T ROM. Both got the same kernel and modem.
So, maybe something to do with the CSC then. The CSC is something new to me so I'll have to research it some more.

In case anyone wants to check it out, I attached the AT&T ROM's CSC (that I assume we're talking about) to this post.
Anyone can find it at /system/csc on their phones.

Having problems maintaining data +/or telephone connection

Please help!

Long story as short as possible...posted here because I need info relating to SM-N900T being used on AT&T

SM-N900T bought on ebay, unlocked with cell unlocker.
Came with NB4 firmware, rooted with CF Autoroot, tried a couple different ROMs and kernels.
Upgraded to NE6 firmware, still stock ROM, tried leanKernel v3, ColonelX R18, now back to stock kernel.

The data connection drops without warning. Sometimes phone connection drops also... notification screen shows " ( Searching ) " where it usually shows "AT&T".

When this happens, the phone gets very warm and the battery level plummets. Plugging it into the charger only helps to keep the battery from completely discharging. When it runs well (properly) it is actually cool to touch

Most times I need to restart the phone. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Toggling "airplane mode" doesn't work. I have reset the modem and GPS songs to stock with the ussd commands. I have also tried to reset the connection, "search now for all available networks" and "select automatically" in "More networks...Mobile networks...Available networks".

I've contacted my carrier, they reset the phone connection, updated the IMEI info so the system recognizes my new phone on the network. I was getting LTE before calling, and when it does connect to the network/Internet I get LTE, too. How do I fix the data connection loss in the first place.

The data connection/stabilizer app didn't work either.

●●Maybe a related question, how do you flash a T mobile room AND another (ie leanKernel)?

I've been all over the forum and dont know where else to look, so now I figure the best place to ask is the thread that specifically addresses what I think is part is the core issue, one carrier's model phone on a different carrier.

If you have an SM-N900T that you are using on AT&T, please post what ROM, kernel etc you have been using. The more responses the better (variety is the spice of life).
I prefer TouchWiz based ROMs as I like too many of the features.

Thank you.

If this is in the wrong thread, could someone please relocate it.
Thanks in advance.

I started on JB, now I'm on NE6. I decided to give Isis Wallet a go. I had to get a Secure Element SIM from ATT. Many at ATT don't know the difference between a standard SIM and a SE SIM. After a lot of research, the corret part number for an ATT nano SE SIM is 4682B. I decided to go with a nano with an adapter because this will future-proof the SIM when used in another phone that needs nano.

I am happy to report that the Isis Wallet app saw the phone as ATT and everything registered and working without a hitch. I originally thought that the T-Mo/NE6 ROM would create a problem, but the ATT SE SIM in the T-Mo phone, T-Mo ROM, and Lean Kernel worked just fine. I was able to download the ATT Isis Wallet app from PlayStore.

BTW, you will need the Xposed Module that masks root from Isis. In case you don't know, Isis won't work with rooted phones......

Enjoy.

Hi,
Do I just unzip into system/csc? Any permissions to fix? What benefits would I get with my TMO N3?

Advice?

Hey guys- just did the switch from TMo on the 900T to ATT. I'm used both the APN settings on this thread, and the ones they told me to use which were very close, but slightly different. Anyhow- I have a work ATT iPhone5 and get LTE here at the house but the 900T isn't switching... just toggling between HSPA and HSPA+... any ideas?
