Hi everyone.

I bought a second-hand ROG Phone 2 off eBay. It's the Tencent version, but already has both the WW ROM and fingerprint. Version 1906. I would like to update to Android 10, but my PC refuses to recognise the phone in fastboot mode, even though I have installed the correct ADB drivers. Can anyone help me with this?
You first need to update to 1910.64 (the last A9 version) which can be found on the guides section.
Then you can update to latest A10 using the full zip, not the smaller incremental one.
Download each zip from their respective threads on the guides section. Put the update in root of phone directory and reboot. Phone will detect the update and prompt to install. Repeat for A10 zip too

Awesome! Trying that now. Can I do it with a locked bootloader or does it need to be unlocked?

It worked! Thanks so much, I am now on 2002.32. How do I relock my bootloader on this version? I can't find anything in the guides section, they are for older ROMs. Will it work?
Do you get a warning message that it's unlocked when you initially boot the phone, it gives you the option to wait or double press the power button to skip the message pause. If you don't get this, your bootloader is already locked.
If you do get the message, then yeah, I would have thought the command to relock it would still work, but I haven't tried so can't say for sure. Perhaps someone else can chip in and advise... Also worth noting that, as far as I'm aware, you only unlock and relock the bootloader twice. After that I believe the action can't be repeated. So if its something you may want to do in future, bear that in mind

Yes. Always use the root img paired to your rom version. After changing the fingerprint to WW, update to latest A9 which is 1910.64. If you'd prefer A10 latest (2004.60), download the full zip and update to that - link is below

Hello, I did all the steps, unlock the bootloader, install magisk, root explorer, change the COUNTRY file from CN to WW, and everything is perfect. Now, I put the update file UL-ASUS_I001_1-ASUS-17.0230.2004.60-1.1.162-user.zip and just like before, when trying to install it always says ERROR. The same as before changing from CN to WW, and I already verified with the Devide Info HW, and now everything says WW, in fingerprint it no longer says CN. Why does this error keep happening? do i need to remove root and lock bootloader again for it to work? Thanks !

You need to update to latest A9 (1910.64) before updating to latest A10. You need to download the full zip for each rom, not the smaller incremental ones. Both can be found here in the guides section. They should be around 2.2-2.7GB

oh great it worked perfect. I'm already on android 10 and everything is going great.

Now, one more question ... if at any point I want to relock the bootloader again, and remove the root, it should follow the steps: "fastboot flash boot boot.img", and then relock the bootloader with: "fastboot oem asus-csc_lk" right? or should I do something else?

There will be no problem trying to remove the root and relock the bootloader already having Android 10?

Thanks in Advance !

To be honest I'm not too sure, it should work, but I haven't tried it. Perhaps someone else can confirm if it works...

Hi, HERE is the file you need...

Also, you can view and download all the firmware updates, for CN and WW versions HERE

Your phone is CN or WW ? (you can view this info in Device Info HW app, under system Tab)

You can try again with step 1 and 2 of this guide. Flashing the Raw Rom again.

1) Download the WW International RAW rom from here

2) Extract the file on your PC. Boot the phone into fastboot mode (hold volume up then press and hold power button, Fastboot mode is the 1st screen you come across, the one with the options to Start, boot to recovery, etc...) connect to the side port and run "flashall_AFT.cmd" wait for it to finish and the phone will restart itself (it will take a number of minutes to complete, with the cmd window open all the time. If the cmd window only flashes up and closes down, then check the rest of the notes with this step).
NOTE: you need to remove or delete the original zip from the raw folder once extracted as it confuses the Flashall_AFT.cmd with the raw rom and zip having the same name. Also, it can help to extract to the root of C drive.

yes i flashed my ww and cn raw and i did mi and qpst . they are all stuck at white screen after a boot .
i am not sure why - i need something that unlocks my bootloader that way i could update my fingerprint . my phone was purchased from banggood and it must have been CN before they wiped and put ww on it . now when i changed my screen from cn to ww its just doesnt want to go anywhere after booting at stuck at white screen and booting again

unloking the bootloader ONLY may be that's an only way i would be able to have my phone out of the bootloop .
can i upgrad downgrade any rom if its a raw .
is there a tutorial that could turn my botloader to say anyhting else but " fused "
i am at wits end
sorry for my eng

Are you saying that you have tried to flash raw CN rom version 1910.64 in fastboot mode?
I think because your fingerprint doesn't match the WW rom on the phone, you cannot flash WW raw roms. I believe it has to be CN, preferably or possibly essentially the same version as you had before (1910.64)
Can you confirm if you have tried this...

EDIT : I was forgetting that CN roms have different versions to WW ... You can download CN raw 1910.63 from here
https://mega.nz/#!gggDDC6T!IOkmcneeBxaKYVjtLoO27er2ROMVrIc6MM-vjmrEaR4

Try that file using the method mentioned a few posts up. Extract the raw rom to the root of C drive on your computer and remove the original zip file from the folder you have extracted. Connect phone in fastboot mode. Run flashall_AFT.cmd, if it works it should take several minutes to complete with an open cmd window running. After it's finished your phone will, hopefully, reboot
