Keep P30 Pro.Hi community,
I got my hands on P40 Pro with 11.0.0.230 (C432E3R6P4) - European version. I've gone through this whole thread and various associated videos and forums about Google services on this phone, and I have a few (probably stupid) questions before starting the installation.
Will this whole procedure work for my European version and will it be able to return to the same version of EMUI?
I currently also have a P30 Pro and I'm still in doubt whether to replace it when I read all the problems around here. It's worth it?
If I'm not mistaken, there are 2 ways - virtual space (Gspace) and Googlefier. I think Googlefier is more secure in terms of the risk of leaking sensitive data, but is it really secure?
So what doesn't work or is limited or annoying compared to the original google services (on the P30 Pro for example)? Google Pay is replaceable using Curve Pay, OK. Is Google Play replaced by Aurora Store or working normally? Do notifications on connected wearable devices (Garmin in my case) works?
I also use my phone for work (multiple accounts) and I need a Google Authenticator - does it work?
Does Google Sync Everything, including backups and any restores, or is there a problem with restoring?
Simply put, I would not like to find out (after the whole process and after a few weeks of use, or after I sold P30 Pro) that something is not working (some security process) and I am blocked from using any service or that I have to reinstall the whole phone due to a new update.
Sorry for the many questions.
Thanks.
No offense, but I did not expect such an answer from you. Can you describe the reason a bit?
I have in the house: 1x Mate 10 Pro, 1x P30 Pro and 1x P40 Pro. I think I know the differences between them. On P40 Pro you will never, never, never have a 100% compatibility between phone and GMS. If you don't need GMS, go ahead and keep P40 Pro. If you need GMS (apps that are related to GMS) keep P30 Pro as long as you can.No offense, but I did not expect such an answer from you. I watched that a downgrade from my version is possible (see your post here) or is it old information and Google added some security patch?
Thank you.
I understand now. I appreciate the incredible work you do here and your skills. It must be difficult to fight both Google and Huawei.I have in the house: 1x Mate 10 Pro, 1x P30 Pro and 1x P40 Pro. On my thread I keep info updated. But the time for GMS on P40 Pro (not GSapce or other virtual apps) is ticking away.
You better keep an eye on Honor products. Lets say...Honor 50 (international version).I understand now. I appreciate the incredible work you do here and your skills. It must be difficult to fight both Google and Huawei.

See here.Hello all,
Is there any other way to rollback, without the need of using HiSuite? And why I'm asking this?
Because apparently my device not supported to downgrade via HiSuite - not showing the option "Other version" from the "Update" popup window.
Try freezing the playstore as well, and clear the cache and data of the apps to be notifiedHey guys, I have P40 Pro European model. I have installed Google Play and all other services with this method. I can confirm that everything works. Except for the notifications.
Even when I freeze the Google Services Framework, the notifications don't arrive normally except calls and SMS.
That's right, I'll keep testing if I find the solution to the location problem.Thank You jocanunu for the suggestion.
After a while notifications started working after I froze the Play store and Google Service Framework.
But now I get a problem with several apps (Bolt, Maps.me, Google maps and Waze) asking to enable google location services sometimes. Bolt does not work at all after freezing. Works only if I unfreeze.
So I confirm that:
-notifications start working after freezing + small delay + clearing cahce.
-play store starts working after unfreezing + clearing the cache.
So there seems to be workarounds for everything (except banking ofcourse), even if they are a bit hacky.

I've been using P40 Pro since it was released without GMS, but I started to feel it's missing.
