Hello, I writed this comment just to explain how I had installed Mokee on my meizu 16 X (global version).
Usefull informations :
- To start in fastboot mode shut down your smartphone and press "power" + "volume -"
- To start Twrp you have to start your smartphone and on the first screen, push "power" + "volume +" until you see twrp screen.
1/ you have to unlock the bootloader (https://remoteunlockservice.com/payment.php). It costs about 10$ with paypal.
2/ Install twrp :
1 - download Twrp at https://files.xingrz.me/MK100.0/Meizu 16 X (魅族 16 X)/
2 - follow this wonderfull instructions https://github.com/sukanka/MEIZU16S_unlock_tutorial/wiki/Flash-TWRP to install proprely twrp. Thank a lot for your work man !
3/ Now start Twrp,
1 - In "Wipe > Avanced Wipe" select "Data" and click on "change file system"
2 - select FAT > swipe to change
1 - In "Wipe > Avanced Wipe" select "Data" and click on "change file system"
2 - select ext4 > swipe to change
4/ download on your computer this three files :
1 - download Google apps "ARM64 > 10.0 > pico" at https://opengapps.org/ (I tried google stock but it doesn't work)
2 - download Radio at https://files.xingrz.me/MK100.0/Meizu 16 X (魅族 16 X)/ This file is very important without it's doesn t work.
3 - Download the rom mokee at https://download.mokeedev.com/m1872.html
5/ transfer the files from your computer to your phone, first you need to connect your devices.
1 - on twrp, choose mount, select data > enable
2 - on your computer copy the three previous files to your smarphone.
6/ Install your new OS, in Twrp
1 - "install" and select "RADIO" and install it
2 - "install" and select mokee and install it
3 - "install" and select gapps and install it

I have a question why can't unlock the bootloader on meizu 16th M882H via fastboot flashing unlock? I know that the OEM unlocking option in the developer settings is a dummy, will someone explain to me how it is locked? And how does unlocking with a paid method work?

I made an account just to warn you guys, not to try any stuff from this thread. In fact just let it be locked/unrooted.
Here's my story
- i only rooted one android phone before (HTC Desire) and it was super easy so i tried to give some live back into my 16s .. but boy was i wrong
- After days i finally managed to root the phone via a flyme account over their official page
- Tried to follow techswizz.com/unlock-meizu-16s-bootloader/ and the frp worked (generating bin, uploading to website and putting unlocked on phone) but it failed when trying
fastboot flashing unlock
FAILED (remote: 'Command not support: the display is not enabled')
- so i downloaded the TWRP img file (from this thread's onedrive) and tried to use dd to flash recovery -> and thats what hard bricked my phone
- every try to boot normal or in recovery fails (logo flashes quickly and reboots)
- i can only go into fastboot but cant flash a new recovery/boot img because the bootloader is locked (unlike @codecex who was able to flash it back because it was unlocked)
So moral of the story: DONT TRY THIS STUFF IT'S NOT WORTH IT

Sadly I tried every method mentioned in this thread (including paid ones) and I never got any positive response, neither from my Meizu 16th nor from the people I sent the money. It is sad, the phone still touches me and I feel like:"Oh boy, take this phone and just use it! You don't need any other!" But Android 8 and a basically bad translated Chinese FlyMeOS is a No-Go for my daily use. I was able to flash the international ROM on my global 16th but even with this something went wrong and I had to use a backup to restore the launcher and the IMEI... Therefore I cannot install the 8.1 Update anymore!
If anyone can help, I'd love to hear that! Any ROM may be better than this.

I'm sorry for that, my 16s was broken last year, and since Dec, 2019 the guide was not updated.
Further, I missed many reply to this post, so I just did't know what happended.

I can only say "I'm sorry for that". I didn't get the money, so you can't get the refund from me, but, you may try to get refund from paypal, I guess.
To clarify, it's not a problem with money or getting it back for me. It is a problem to own a beautiful mobile that's useless until unlock.
The SD845 combined with 6Gb of RAM should be capable of executing Android 13 flawless and that's what I want. How can we geht there?

Surely NOT. MEIZU doesn't provide an official way to unlock bootloader. But you may try AT YOUR OWN RISK.
It is the same with 16th, and it does not work for me also. I tried without any luck on 16th, 17 and 18X. Only in 18X I was able to get a working root, but there's no way back. Even a full reset by reflashing stock did do the job unrooting the phone. So carefully try at your own risk and be warned, this is not a trivial hack like on a Samsung Galaxy S4...

There seems to exist a new method: It is said to work on Qualcomm devices.
First, dump frp partion, then edit the value to 1 at 7fff0, finally, flash the modified frp image. then you can use fastboot command to unlock your phone.
This new method shall work for for ODM devices like 16T, 16x, 16xs and Note9 and so on. see FRP Method.

You can try it yourself. I think it should work. I mentioned 16xs in the chinese version tutorial, but 16x in the English ver.?1
You have to use the firmware ( Rom for unbricking ) provided in the tutorial.1
You can use prog_firehose_ddr.elf instead. When you unlock your phone, you will be able to flash TWRP, then flash the global ROM. you will stay unlocked until you lock it manually.
BTW, for 16xs you should use the FRP method, which means you do not need the firmware? You can try it directly or flash to chinese version then try this method.
