i am having the same issue where i flashed CM 10.1 and it was stuck in a boot loop. i wanted to go back to CWM to restore the stock rom and now cyanoboot is stuck. i tried the method described with the holding of the buttons but nothing... any idea? did i brick it? i hope not...
This is an SD install thread. Why do you need to restore stock? Explain a little bit more what you are doing.

well i did what was described in the thread. i got my hd+ rooted and i tried to put cm 10.1 on here and it put it in a boot loop. unless i missed something somewhere and screwed up a small part of it. now i can't get back into cyanoboot to fix it.

Ok, you are just confused. All you have to do to get back to stock is remove the SD and reboot. This guide does nothing to modify stock.

You did somehow mess up the SD. Get a program named SDFormatter free on the web. The use it to do a full format of the SD. Then start over with the instructions here to re-burn the SD and install CM.

apparently i missed the part about not modifying stock XD oops. i managed to do a full factory reset on the hd+ from the nook itself. now i have to start the root again. oh well. but now i have another issue... i used an 8gb sd card and now it only reads as a 3.6gb card. how do i get it back to 8gb? i even tried g-parted thinking maybe windows couldn't understand the other partition.

Are you mixing threads here. The only way to get that card to 3.6GB was for you to have flashed my 4GB stock CWM card from my stock thread. Do you want it set up like this thread or do you want to modify stock? Or both?

In any case, do what I said earlier and use SDFormatter. It will restore your SD to full size.

i think i was mixing threads. i would really like to modify the stock and have it run from the internal. i'm not really interested in the nook stock at all. and i tried the sdformatter with no luck. it won't read it bigger than 3.6gb. i'm a fun one huh lol

You need to set the option in SDFormatter to adjust for size.

If you want to put CM10.1 on internal memory, get the CM10.1 zip from here::

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41024398

Since you have an 8Gb SD, use SDFormatter to reformat to the full size and follow my new procedure in my HD/HD+ CWM thread to make the CWM SD full size. Then use it to backup the stock and then flash the CM10.1 zip from the above thread. Then flash the 20130301 gapps zip.

What kind of SD card reader are you using? Are you using a micro to SD adapter. Do you have the write protect on?

You really need to give more information if you want help. Don't just say my PC can't read the card. You must have had it read it before or you could not have burned an image to it.

i'm actually using an old android phone because i don't have a card reader. it read just fine before and now it won't. i'll just have to buy a new card and start again. thanks for the help though. it did work as far as the rooting went and i appreciate that.

You don't need a new card, just a real card reader. They are cheap. Preferably one made for micro SDs. You can recover that card.

verygreen image isn't booting

I cannot get my Nook HD+ to boot to the SD card. I've reformatted the card using the sdformat tool and rewrote the image using Win32 Disk Image.

The image file I'm burning is named NookHDplus-image-for-original-verygreen-CM-SD-cwm-6028-rev0-(02.27.13).img

I've tried rebooting, with and without the power adapter, but nothing seems to work. The Nook recognizes the SD card just fine, it simply doesn't boot to it for some reason.

Is there something else I can try?

Some of the newer nook HD+'s are just hard to boot to SD. Look at this thread:

I installed very green 7.1 SD image and the 5/27 and latest gapps everything works besides nook app and a lot lower volume than stock 2.10.
would be nice if we can get a boot to stock in cynoboot so I don't have to remove card to boot stock.
Besides that great work almost a daily runner.

Report that in verygreen's CM10.1 SD thread. He does not read this thread.

Been covering very green, sculant and fat tire work since the nook color.
never thought to register here since thing were reported before I noticed.

With the nook HD+ I'm not seeing the feedback I was used too. So I decided to register and get involve.
you need ten post to give feedback in the developer's fourm .
glad you are posting there.

thanks

If you want to use the internal memory method, you must use my image in this thread, not early 4. It has been modified to use internal memory. I think I said that in the first post. Maybe I might need to make it clearer (done, OP updated).

gah, I think I"m confused, sorry for being such a noob. Which is the guide to follow to use just the sd card and leave the internal memory untouched?

Go to verygreen's CM10.1 for sdcard thread (referenced in the first post here) and use the New SD image (early 7.1) and his latest CM10.1 zip.

gotcha...how can I reformat the sd card to have the full 32 gb rather than the 117mb partition I made?

If you don't want to run CM10.1 on it any more, use SDFormatter free on the web. Use the size adjustment option. That will return it to a normal SD. If you want to keep running CM10.1 on it, leave it alone, that is the way it is supposed to be. The rest of the 32GB is being used for your installation.
