supported_exfat = yes
}
dev_mount sdcard /storage/extSdCard auto /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.3/mmc_host/mmc1/

#usb host device
{
media_type = usb
supported_exfat = yes
}
dev_mount sda /storage/UsbDriveA auto /devices/platform/msm_hsusb_host/usb

#usb host device
{
media_type = usb
supported_exfat = yes
}
dev_mount sdb /storage/UsbDriveB auto /devices/platform/msm_hsusb_host/usb

#usb host device
{
media_type = usb
supported_exfat = yes
}
dev_mount sdc /storage/UsbDriveC auto /devices/platform/msm_hsusb_host/usb

#usb host device
{
media_type = usb
supported_exfat = yes
}
dev_mount sdd /storage/UsbDriveD auto /devices/platform/msm_hsusb_host/usb

#usb host device
{
media_type = usb
supported_exfat = yes
}
dev_mount sde /storage/UsbDriveE auto /devices/platform/msm_hsusb_host/usb

#usb host device
{
media_type = usb
supported_exfat = yes
}

Hi I would like to ask a maybe silly question, but what happen when we swap sd cards? will it automatically readjust or will we have to set up the whole procedure again? I'm a noob. Sorry if the question is lame:cyclops:

Phone : Galaxy NOTE GT N7000
ROM: AMNIX XPERIA Z-IZED NOTE
Kernel : Speedmod 5.5

Hi there,

Just wanna make sure. Since Carbon ROM is AOSP-based, this method/mod will surely work right? For as long as I flashed the 4.3 version?

Also, do I need to flash first the custom ROM before doing this? Or should I need to do this first on a stock TW ROM?

EDIT: I did flash the 4.3 version of Carbon ROM then did this... voila memory swapped! Thanks Sir.

Question: I was just wondering if this can be combined with the "pit file mod", if that's possible then it would be one hell of an awesome innovation. Any ideas?

Woah my apps suddenly force close and auto delete right after I move them to the SD Card (internal memory which was previously the external) via the native Apps Manager. Hmm what seems to be the problem?

Please help me. I tried to do this but when I reach to system/etc there is no such file as vold.fstab. I also don't get the meaning of R/W :/ (I'm a newbie not a noob.). Could you please give me a detailed instructions of what to click and what to change or something like this that I don't understand "Permission must be: RWX,R-X,R-X" and this "Make sure you have mounted to R/W before pasting the file"... fast answer would be appreciated.

I'm sorry I don't know what vold.fstab file is but the rest I might be able to answer.

1. R/W means rewriteable. It's a mode where you can edit your system file ( replace, delete and such ) you must use/ activate "root explorer" give it superuser/SU permission to be able to access this mode.

2. Permissions is as the name says. Give permission to a file to be able to execute and running. Find the "properties" option (in my case ES explorer, long press the file, choose "properties").

3. Default setting is usually at R or R/O which means read only. When in this mode, you cannot edit or modify your system file to prevent mishaps. :p. Change it to R/W in root explorer and you're good to go.

PLEASE READ related threads to gain knowledge and know the consequences for what you r about to do. Do NOT mess with system files unless you know what you are doing. Good luck

Q Mobile Noir Z3 Memory Swaping

I am using a Qmobile Noir Z3
It has a 16Gb Internal Memory but upto 5 GB for OS and Apps, remaining for data.

I thought to swap the memory from external to internal so I searched different websites for techniques,
First I rooted my device and then found a way to swap the memory by method no 1 which I thought was very easy:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2246909

I downloaded the rar file from the thread and extract it as shown, I wanted to extract the file in the folder system/etc but there was already a file named as exactly as i was copying whcih was vold.fstab, so I deleted the current file and extraxted the new one from the rar. when I restarted and checked my memory from storage settings, now It shows 0 (zero) memory for my data on my phone. I restarted so many times but its not working now.

I also did factory reset but it didnt come back

Any one please help me find the original vold.fstab file for my device as it was before.....Thank you

SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME

Hey, I was wondering, when you swap the memory, the sd card can be in his own system partition like exFat, Fat32? or you have to have ext4 Partition? Like link2sd?
Because for what I know ext4 partition are much more stable and performed.

Also on high-end devices, which many today still run Android 4.3, you will just loose performance because of the low transfer rate between Phone and SD Card.
Anybody saw any difference?

BTW, sorry to pick up dead threads..lol..
