CRE2 works correctly with VOLTE and visual voicemail working. I still cant get WI-Fi calling to work as its greyed out on my phone. If someone figures that out let me know and ill update the thread. I'm uploading the CRE2 files right now and they should be available within an hour of making this comment.

thread has been updated with multiple links now and updated firmware.
Thanks for your work. I have yet to try this out.
WIFI calling is my only motivation though. Hope you get that working too.

Realistically this should work for any carrier as long as you have the user data file for that carrier instead of the att one. You'll wanna make sure you download the correct file for the tmo instead of the aio like this unlocked file is.
Thanks for the info but I tried and it failed almost immediately.

Well good luck if you decide to pursue it
Oh wow, I am feeling like a noob. I was using an older version of Odin. (Haven't rooted or messed with firmware in awhile). And I did not notice the UserData file portion.

I found a UserData file and it is working great with TMobile S8+. Thanks a bunch!

I finally had a chance to do this. Will test it out over the next few days.
To test out volte, do you make a call and see if it stays on LTE?
Hope to get wifi calling working soon. thanks op

That's correct you make a call and see if the LTE drops down like 2G or something. if it stays LTE why you're having a phone called then volte works

Ok, VoLTE works with Cricket, unfortunately Wi-Fi Calling won't work.... You need to flash "carrier-specific" firmware for that, the one that ends with "U" and not "U1". At least that is what I had to do. You will lose some features of "U1" models but this will make Wi-Fi Calling work and you will get Cricket-specific apps and not AT&T's apps (like Wi-Fi Connection Manager).

Could you point me to the cricket firmware to try?

Yea but you don't have unlocked hotspot and that's a huge thing for me. Besides that I can tolerate everything else. I need that hotspot..?

There is no specific "Cricket firmware", at least I couldn't find it through SamFirm... What I did with my 950U1 is use SamFirm to download generic "carrier" firmware (doesn't matter which one, VZW or TMB will work similarly), then flash all these files with Odin 3.13.1:

After flashing these 4 files to my 950U1 (the US unlocked version) and doing a "factory reset" all Cricket features work now, including VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling. This will also add Cricket-specific apps like "Visual Voicemail" and "My Cricket" (can't be uninstalled but can be disabled), a bunch of games (all can be uninstalled) and will modify signal strength indicator (it will show more "bars" even with weaker signal compared to U1 firmware). This will also remove Samsung's "Caller ID with spam filtering", but it can be replaced by apps like Hiya.

Which carrier firmware did you use?
After flashing, is the factory reset through settings?
And when it restarts with the Cricket SIM, it will install all cricket specific apps?
thanks

This is what I get.
But I do have an AT&T S8, if that makes a difference.

EDIT: So I called Cricket and they said my phone is not compatible. Only Cricket S8's are compatible, and I suppose Unlocked S8's also, according to AlexusJ. Dammit.

Ahh, I actually have a phone I bought from cricket. There should be no difference between an AT&T phone unlocked phone and cricket phone except for the software.
