Awesome! Thank you, that example helped me and the command looks like it worked. After that I Fastboot reboot and then reboot with up and power buttons? Seems I’m not getting root after doing that so I’m trying to make sure my process is all correct.
Reboot with only pushing volume up not vol up + power.

Yes, on each reboot you should push vol UP only, doesn't matter if magisk or root essential make it to reboot to recovery automatically, do it yourself every times you want to boot under magisk environment. It's the only way for now to have root.

EDIT : also if for some reason you want to boot normally and phone still boot alone in recovery / magisk, just push vol UP + vol down simultaneously at boot (no need to push power with them..), phone will boot in stock recovery and fail ,(except if you have a dload folder on your SDcard... Make sure you don't have one or it will install the update.....) just hit reboot and do nothing, it will boot normally without magisk. .

It's exactly what I've said [emoji16]
That probably depend on magisk maybe, so you don't need to push volume up now. If you see the orange message bigger, it's the normal boot and magisk will be not available in that case, reboot and volume up.

I only have two different messages after bootloader unlock.
One that gives me the tree options :
1.boot to recovery press vol + for 3 seconds
2.boot normally to system press power button
3. Do nothing and the Phone boots normally. After 5 seconds

This boot message dissapered after system install complete and i flashed the recovery_ramdisk.img (patched for root of course )

The second Orange screen is the one i get after patching:

'Your phone is unlocked bla...bla...bla.
Not secure bla.... Bla... Bla.

Your phone is now booting.'

This message is now every time both with and without vol+.
Either way i get root pie and full access.

If i want twrp or recovery i press power and vol - or go to fsstboot and flash twrp if needed

Do not know if this makes sense for u guys, but i kinda like the way things work right now. Finally got the perfect setup and no problems what so ever????

Love my mate 20 pro.

I'm not sure but it look like when you use root essential and use reboot to recovery one time with it, each time you reboot, it reboot to recovery /magisk and you don't need to hold volume up anymore

I have done everything like described and tried alternative methods like flashing TWRP but nothing works.
I had succesfully rooted my device but after problems with magisk modules, I got a bootloop and now I'm unrooted again.

Doing the exact same steps as before now doesn't boot into recovery but redirects me to fastboot mode.
I don't understand how the exact same procedure and even files can give a different result.
The firmware is still the same and I've patched my own files.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I already advice to an user's this procedure :

Install trwp then wipe internal storage then reboot to erecovery and download FW with wifi : it will completely put phone at new and now unlock again bl

I was also sucked with bootloop or impossible to boot and hangs.
Now my system is stable and rooted. Google pay doesn't work and I am on 228

So if anyone having issues patching extracted ramdisk recovery / patched magisk images from update app for root then the alternative method is to flash twrp bootloader and just install the latest canary build magisk 19 from there .. once that is done then install latest magisk manager from the canary build GitHub.
I've done this but it didn't work.
It still says that Magisk isn't installed.

I'm trying this right now.

Edit: Again stuck at the animated Huawei logo.
Booting into recovery doesn't work.
