I un-rooted my XOOM, ensured that SU is no longer on it and verified its no longer rooted using a terminal program. Although I placed the stockboot.img back on (a few times) and it took, for some reason I still cannot re-lock it. When I do I get the Failed to boot LNX 0x0004 / Starting RSD Mode 2 message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think this will work without some stock software from Motorola, I'm not sure how the boot loader verifies the installed software but something, somewhere isn't matching up.

I was lurking over at the Moto support forums and the Forum Mod (and Moto employee) Matt says that they are planning on releasing the SBF files, and that unlocking your device will not preclude you from the 4G hardware upgrade.

Read through the thread. and draw your own conclusions though...

The stock software has to be released sooner rather than later, I mean the Xoom itself tells the user to go to Moto's site and get it, hopefully it won't be much longer.

For now, "we're living on the edge" lol.

adbwinapi.dll is supposed to be part of the Android sdk tools. It is not a function of the device. do a search for the file and add it to your sdk tools. You cannot run ADB without it. I still don't know why it didn't install with the SDK install.

The new SDK split adb, it's DLLs & fastboot in two tools & platform-tools, so depending on someone is using the 3.0 SDK they have to put them all together if they want to work that way.

If they don't have the DLL they need to launch the SDK manager and make sure to download the platform tools package.

Question about Data..

The Xoom has a slot for a sim card on top of it. Does unlocking the device allow it to be used with any other carrier ? (i.e T-Mobile for example )
