Tested on Stock MIUI V8.0.50, confirmed working :good:

I flash directly using MiFlash the 6.1.7 firmware without "fastboot oem edl".
Instruction:
1. Reboot to fastboot mode(vol down + power).
2. Open MiFlash, connect the phone, load the 6.1.7, flash.
3. Wait until it boot.
4. reboot to fastboot > open cmd > fastboot oem unlock. (this will unlock your bootloader)
5. fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

After that flash your favorite rom trough TWRP.
I flash Slim 6 + pico gapps + TAO script... lean, fast, simple, no BS.... :)

Regards

downgrade rom is not mandatory. i had latest developer chinese miui rom and i have not downgraded. your rom must support only fastboot oem edl. you can flash directly from mi flash

Did it work? Have you tried it?
It does not works for me. It supports fastboot oem edl, but impossible to flash anything.
I've unlocked my bootloader with this method and that rom. Mi flash unlocked said me "couldn't verify device" . Ensure that miflash recognize tour devices as "COM". If not than ensure that you have have correct driver installed. In devices manager check how your device is recognized or post here a screenshot

Hello everyone, I installed TWRP-3.0.2-0-libra and forgot to do backup rom.
Bootloader is unlocked.
We checked all the TWRP including System and now no more start than MI on the screen.
Help please how to make this telephone(mi-4c) alive.

Hello there.

Something weird is happening in my phones (I have two mi4c) I've followed the tutorial and I was able to set up TWRP but only the first reboot after the fastboot programming, I mean, I've flashed my device using MiFlash completely set up the installed rom, then rebooted into fastboot, successfully unlock bootloader through oem command (It says true on oem info), after that flash TWRP recovery, reboot pressing vol +, TWRP shows up but if I let the device to completely turn on to the system and reboot again now, pressing vol +, It shows MiRecovery again..... I'm lost here, of course trying to flash any image from TWRP on that first run causes a brick and then MiFlash is needed again, It looks like the phone is flashing recovery again or It is not being write on memory.... don't know maybe the bootloader is not unlocked completely but no error is showing during flash.... any ideas?

fastboot boot twrp.img

On twrp flash twrp.img ...

Use latest ketut kumajaya twrp. Find It on android development mi4c sub forum.

My bootloader is still locked and I can flash twrp with that method may be it will be working for you too ... No guarantee tho. Do with your own risk.
